I am researching a particular Porsche model and wonder if there is an independent
Porsche historian whom may be able to assist.

I am aware of Jens Torner at Posche AG in Stuttgart but am looking for someone like
Ferrari specialists like Keith Bluemel or Marcel Marcini only with Porsche expertise.

    Any direction appreciated.

Is it a rare, low production car or a series production car; interesting history?

Yes, a rather rare racing car in this case.

Some of the early history is known, just trying to fill in some small holes
    in the history if possible.

    I do get around :)

have you contacted Gunnar Racing in WPB? they might know the answer to your questions, and if they don't they can out you in touch with someone who does.

Peter Morgan, Andy Pritchard and Randy Leffingwell might be good contacts as well; all have written books on that era.

Is it a secret exactly what car? If so, why?

Maybe somebody here would have some knowledge without being a PHD in Porsche history...

Why don't you just call Prescott Kelly. I'm sure if he thinks you're worthy, he'll get you everything you need.

Prescott Kelly will be helpful. He was just in Japan, so may take a few days for him to return your call/email. Randy Leffingwell is another excellent contact as mentioned earlier.
