I've decided to sell my Porsche/March 83G GTP car.
...Winner of the 1984 Daytona 24hr race (1st OverAll) w/ "KREEPY KRAULY" Livery. This is the Al Holbert CRC/RED ROOF INN sponsored car of 1983 which took him to his first ever IMSA Diver's championship. Would be a great entry into the CLASSIC 24HR. DAYTONA RACE held this Nov. at Daytona by HMSA....(see all details in the Classifieds section above).

    Beautiful!
I'm truly curious to know the price... It has unique history.
I'll have to dig out my Porsche racing history book and see if this car is mentioned.

I thought he OP said this is a March chassis, not a 956 or 962; or did March design those chassis?

and no..the 956 and 962 were all Porsche.

the march / Porsche relationship began when AH headed Porsche Racing NA and andial was selling engines to the march guys. prior to the march, several lola t600's were using andial/Porsche power including the car of jr and sr.

It is a March chassis. however, was highly modified in the rear area for the Porsche power plant (for cooling, etc) by Al Holbert (and I'm told, with Porsche "Guidance"). It's very well excepted in all Porsche circles..

Al Holbert raced the car in 1983 in the CRC/ RED ROOF INN Race Livery which was a red and white paint scheme.. Interestingly, Jim Truman (Of Red Roof Inn) was his co driver.
...Then, in 1984 the new "KREEPY KRAULY" Livery was set...as it is today... when I bought the car in 2005, it was done back to the Red/White livery...

...Note photo of Al Holbert driving the car in 1983 (photo author unknown)

Ok yes, that car belonged to a friend of mine for awhile here in the Metro DC area.. Rasim Tugberk. Very cool March chassis car, and looked after very well while in his care.

    Thx for posting!

    car is still available...
Has the best history (with all documents to support this) ...An Al Holbert car when new in 1983... Winning the 1984 Daytona 24 Hr. race ...First OA when competing against the likes of the NEW Porsche 962 factory entry...
Would be a great Historic racer, club event car or nice addition to someone's Porsche collection...
