Gentleman - Just wanted to thank everyone that answered my posts awhile back regarding "Turbo's vs. GT3's". I pulled the trigger on a 2007 GT3 with 25,000 miles on it. The car came from Jakes Motorcars in San Diego. My salesman was Nick, who did a great job answering my calls and arranging shipping. I test drove a 996 Turbo and a 997.2 GT3. After running the GT3 thru the gears and hearing that engine wail, I was hooked. I just got the car last Monday night and have put on about 300 miles. I just love the feel of the car and hearing the sounds that it makes. Special thanks to Dr. Bruce, who was kind enough to let me drive his GT3. I introduced myself via FChat and asked if he'd give me a ride. I drove three hours South to meet him and he was kind enough to not only give me a ride, but allowed me to drive!!! I thought that was pretty cool as I'd never met him before. I think that is going above and beyond. Very generous guy. He also gave me a ride in his 430 Scuderia. What an awesome pair of cars he has. Also thanks to H20skier, who answered email after email with all my questions. Pictures to follow.... Thanks again. MDS
Mike, I'm glad you like the gt3. I to drove a turbo before I bought the gt3 and the gt3 was the better fit for my driving purpose. It has a lot in common with the scud and that was the driving experience I wanted. It looks like you are enjoying your car, I just put mine away for the winter. Hope to see your car next summer.
I drove a 997 GT3 in white, just like yours, back to back with an F430, murcielago, gallardo, SL65, and DB9. The GT3 was the most FUN of all of them. Since driving that car I can only imagine buying it in white. I'd love to know what you paid, but if you can't share I understand.
Thanks. I love it. Unfortunately, I only got to drive it about 400 miles before we got dumped on with snow. I looked at several cars prior to buying, but really wanted a Porsche and it came down to a 997 Turbo or GT3. On my list was Ferrari 360, Viper, ZO6, ZR1, NSX, the pair of Porsches, and a C63 Mercedes. I put my price point at $80K +/-. MDS
