Normally I'm not a fan of vintage cars being cut up to add modern touches, but something about this particular car has got me going a bit. What do you guys think? Anyone here have an "Outlaw" style 356? 1958 Porsche 356 Emory Special Image Unavailable, Please Login
Saw the recent Overhaulin' episode where they re-did a 356 with Emory's help. I thought the finished product was pretty neat but they did cut up a fairly nice 356 to do it. I could go either way. Rod Emory Archives - @FlatSixes - the blog about Porsche
The first "Outlaw" 356 was done by Dean Jeffries on a 1956 356 Carrera 4 cam in 1958. The Emory car has a lot more work done to it than most outlaw 356s. Here is the Jeffries car that was restored recently back to 1958 status. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I love em' …. also love originals. I think theres a place for both. I have a coupe replica being built now…similar to your pic…..black, red interior, airbags.

Outlaws are fun, they're not new and have been around for years. Once frowned upon by the purist (still even) they have found a serious following. There are many of us out there.. I've had three 356s with two being outlaws including the one which I still have. Its been sitting for years awaiting its turn to be restored back to its outlaw state. Gotta luv'em!
Yes, I have had several Emory outlaws. He does great work. Watching that video, that's my blue speedster.
