Now this looks promising. Keep your NSXs and i8s, I would rather drive this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lGVWojMMeg4
I think it will be an instant classic like the BMW 1M Coupe (keep its value quite well). It makes me happy that we are still seeing the occasional "squirt" of classic driving machines (manual/low weight/compact shape) even though "everybody" is focusing on tech.
I think it is fantastic. I would have liked to see a higher redline, but I'm not going to complain. Manual, no centerlocks, light (ish), mid-engined, parts off GT3. It should be great. I will definitely test drive and see if I want to trade.
Looks fat and unless they greatly improved steering feel from the current S......I'll just keep my Cayman R. Dave
Looks fantastic ... love those chairs. Although, we're still not seeing all the top shelf GT3 hardware here, so maybe there's room for a GT4 RS with all the goods. I think a 981 could do better than 996 GT3 levels of performance.
So much competition in this seg - alfa 4c loaded vette base z06 Z28 Shelby350r Base viper used lotus gtr M4 Used 997.1gt3 Rs5 Gt4 is cool but not sure i would take it over the above.
This. Is. Perfection. I have one and only one complaint. I have yet to find a High-Res wallpaper. I guess I'll have to live with a slightly grainy wallpaper for the time being
I just wish they hadn't dropped the engine's output by 50hp. If they were "only" going to give us 380hp, I would rather it come from a hyped up 3.4 as it's always been said to have the better personality.
I hear what you are saying, but I think a lot of people (myself included) thought that this car was going to get the regular 3.4 with a different exhaust and tune an no internal work. So the fact that this has a 911 engine is exciting to me.

I think all 981-series Caymans have been available with either three-pedal or PDK manuals. Only the high end stuff is PDK-only.
Definitely. And if they have the demand and can find the time, they'll have plenty of room to up the hp incrementally with every refresh, driving us crazy . . .
I dont expect this to go on for too much longer once the turbo engine is a must in the lineup. ORRRR does anyone know what the rules really say? Is it each car has to have a target emission, or is it based on the whole lineup having a blended emission target? This will determine how long they can hold onto producing NA cars.
