I have recently upgraded from a gen 1 997 to a 991. I love the new car but I'm missing some of the sounds from my old 997. One simple modification I made to my 997 was to 'unplug' the exhaust valve so that it stayed open permanently, I then had the full sound of the exhaust at all times, this mod eradicated that step in sound that you always get when you floor the throttle, thus making for a more natural driving experience. Is it possible to do the same on the 991? Both cars have the PSE exhaust, but I have no idea what to do. Thanks in advance for any tips and advice!

I'm assuming you do not have the "sport exhaust" button?

Unfortunately, even with sports exhaust, valves do not open until 3500 RPM.

Yes, I understand that. I'm just wondering if maybe he's referring to a 991 Carrera S without that option.

If fabspeed offers the muffler by pass for the 991,get it. I had it on my 997c4s and it sounded amazing. People would ask me about it everywhere I went.

Exactly this, I have the sports exhaust, but I would like to keep the valves open at all times.

Someone is going (or has already) made a cockpit controlled on/off switch.
In the new 2015 M3/4 there is even a reflash where you can use existing steering wheel buttons to control the same thing.

This looks like exactly the right idea! Do you have agents in the UK? Do you ship to Europe?
    Thanks.
