I'm such a glutton. 20 years ago my dad's cousin came to see me when I was the night service manager at Toyota. He knew I was into "furrin" cars you see. Dad and his cousins are good 'ol boys from Arkansas don't 'ya know. These here German hoopties are just fussy for them lol.

Anyway. Dad's cousin had tapped into this car (1966 912) at a downtown Seattle stoplight. Just barely pushed in the passenger rear bumper and such. The owner was cool and let him drive it around for estimates. Turns out he had been thinking of selling it anyway.

I advised dear old cousin the car was cheap enough he may as well buy it. Hell it might be worth something someday I said. So he bought it.

20 years later... the car has been sitting in his carport for at least 5 years. Maybe it got driven 1000 miles total since 1995. It was time to go. Cousin asked if I still "played around" with this old crap. The rest is history.

It needs everything. Driver floor rotten. Rot in the wings and a few other places. But very restorable. Complete. Some misguided soul put velour on the dash and seats decades ago. IDA carbs. It has a 5-speed.

    yikes

Kiesan, always enjoy your exploits and chatting with you too whenever about these furrin cars. Way to go, I just dragged one home myself. These 912 orphans deserve EVERY chance...that's a swb 901 design masterpiece lurking there. Here to help and seek help. All the best with your project.
