Any one have cool pics or stories about this car? Its def in my top 3 of all time favorite cars.... Image Unavailable, Please Login
Its kind of a forgotten model. I know one is in Canada and is fully registered for the street, now that its older then 15 years. I forget who owns it, think they are involved in auto racing as a team owner. Might also be involved with RM auctions. Going by memory over 15 years ago. The owner originally brought it into Canada as a race car.
I saw a white one in person back around 2000-2002 or so in Mt. Dora, Florida at a car show. Belong to Gerd Petrik at the time who also brought out his CLK-GTR, F50, and XJ220. I only have hardcopies of it...no digital.
I believe there is a street legel one in Bahrain. Its apart of “the collection”. I feel like I also saw a video of a yellow one recently in Monaco.

The yellow one (it is actually Pastel Yellow) is a Stassenversion, meaning it was one of the ~25 homologation cars Porsche built - these were all street legal the day they left the factory.

Everytime I see a picture of one of those GT1s this is what comes to mind.. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b31O4FmljGY[/ame]
The GT1 is my favorite 911 - mid-engine with serious race provenance during a great car era (IMHO 90s era is second only to 60s era).
The Canadian with the Porsche GT1 might be Harry Bytzek from the Toronto area. He had Porsche and Ferrari automobiles...
new vid from Porsche, stupid, but some good mountain driving drone shots 911 GT1 Strassenversion-98 (silver car above is a -97, correct?) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Porsche_911_GT1 .
