I can't get a comfortable seating position in my 911 SC. When I want to be able to grab the steering wheel and gear shifter, There's no room for my legs. When I move the seat back to give my legs some room, I can't reach the steering wheel and shifter properly.

The steering wheel shouldn't be a problem with adding a spacer, but what about the shifter? I'm planning to see the local mechanic if he has a solution, but was wondering if anyone else has solved this problem? Thanks in advance.

    Best, Peter

Track down an extended hub steering wheel, they were a factory option. Once that is installed you can set your seat location and have your specialist adjust the shifter back or you can try yourself. To adjust for/aft remove the cover behind the front seats and put the car in 3rd gear. Loosen the 13mm nut on the shift coupler and pull back on the shifter without letting it move side to side. Once it won't pull back any further bump it forward just a touch and then tighten the 13mm nut. Test drive.

I'm only 5'6" - you could give the car to me, as I would fit perfectly! :D:D:D:D:D

Peter, how tall are you? Extended hub steering wheel and longer shifter (Rennshift aftermarket option). She will never feel like modern 911 ergo's but that should help. Plus old skool ergo's is part of the 'charm'. Accept it for what it is :)

Did not know about the adjustment possibilities of the shifter, will look into that, thanks.

    LOL

I'm not that tall (5'9") it's more about proportions of the arms, back and legs. And I understand the old skool part, but I've got back problems and it's no fun going on a long road trip in a compromised position. Plus, when I had the 308 it fit me like a glove (just a small steering hub spacer was needed). That was a very positive surprise.
