Yes, awesome special car but $2m+ seems insane to me.

My wife just forwarded me this article. How much do higher mileage examples go for?

    2 unanswered questions:

    1. It was parked inside, but looks like it survived a fire. Did I miss something?

    2. Can anyone sit in that interior without puking?

Cool car. I can't imagine buying something like that and letting it sit there and start rotting away. At least put a cover on it.

The stuff on it is the original cosmoline that came on the car, supposedly. I find it strange that this is being looked upon as a selling point, as the original paint is likely ruined underneath as a result of never washing it off.

but it's *original" paint corrosive material

the whole thing here is silly to me, it's going to be a restoration project anyway...no reason to pay a premium IMO. still probably a $1mm+ car.

the car is a Porsche artifact, with 50 others like it, at the premium offered, there are better choices for paying a large premium... best bang for not spending a lot is to get a recent or new 991 S and drive it daily

    The long way home
There were two of these cars shopped (hard, to anyone that might listen) as a pair about 18 months ago. Both cars could have been had for ~$2mm.

The prevailing thought was if you could buy both, you'd 'own' the market on them and name your price in the future. Of course, the air-cooled Porsche market was in a different state 18 months ago...
