Bom Dia. I have a Dino 246 locked away for years in Portugal and would now like to Import/register it (Its on UK Reg) Are there any 246 Dinos in Portugal ? Can anybody tell me what the CO 2 emissions are on this car.... Finally can anybody tell me what the Import Duty /Tax will cost me ? Any help on this gratefully received...
I don't know the CO2, but next year it will have a great discount on the taxes. I think if the car have 270 co2 for example the next year you will pay 4k€, if have 400 it's 8k€. Here in Portugal there are maybe more than 10 246 dinos.
Wait until January to register it. Taxes are going to change (a lot). When importing it you will have to measure the CO2 during the special import MOT. Please make sure BEFORE that you have the lowest value possible. You will pay tax every year depending on that single value. The new import tables can be seen here (sorry, Portuguese only) Tabela Imposto Sobre Veículos (ISV) 2015 - Tabela Imposto Sobre Veículos - Imposto Sobre Veículos e Imposto Único de Circulação You can have a rough idea about the tax to pay here: Imposto Sobre Veículos (ISV) 2014/15 Please keep in mind that this is not definitive. We need to wait until the national budget is approved and published in "Diário da Republica".
Thanks a lot guys...that's really helpful... Hope to meet up sometime if you have classic car meetings.. Ken Algarve
Is it possible to get Classic car Insurance in Portugal ? Right now I only pay about 500 per year but Im limited on mileage...which is fine as my Dino has only done 18K miles since 1973 ! Thanks for any leads
Both Vitorinos Seguros or ACP Seguros you should find a cheap insurance, event Rui should be able to provide a good deal.
We can get you a lower fee using Clube Scuderia Rampante partnership with AON/Hiscox. This includes both the "normal" insurance and the "full coverage" option. If you're interested please send me a PM with your email and I can give you more details. If you like, I can also include you on the clube's distribution list for next events.
thanks....such a pity, so many more Classics would have appeared...Oh Well I still dont really know how to use the bon line calculator because I do not know the emissions for a 246 Dino.... anybody know ?? or do the MOT testers here , test it on the day ?? Thanks ken Portimao
During the MOT, the testers here make on the day the Co2 test. Dont forget the IUC will be very high on that car , arround 500/600 per year.
I had a Chrysler with a 3000cc diesel engine. I used to pay around 600 euros/year of IUC:/ I'm sorry I can't confirm you the emissions of that engine...it just for you to have an idea. If I'not mistaken, the highest price of IUC in PRT it's around 800 euros, but I believe that's not your problem, is it...? Maybe...maybe....and again maybe, if you could arrange some connections over the CI... I could ask a friend of mine if it's possible to outline the system..it's not the honest nor the easiest way but...'where's a will there's a way'...
