    HI all,

I was up in Watkins Glen this weekend and saw a nice dark red metallic 400i parked in a lot a block or two of the main drag during the vintage race car parade.

Does it belong to anyone on here? I saw it while we were stuck in traffic looking for a place to park, but never made it back to take a closer look.

Sounds like a Rosso Nearco example, a deep, dark red not too different than the Scuderia Ferrari Alfa Romeos during the 1930's. I test drove a rosso nearco 5 speed 400i in New York City back in 1998 but that car is now out in Minnesota. The current owner brought it to the F1 race at Indy in 2002, so he drives it. Maybe he decided to go to the Glen.

That is a beautiful car indeed, though a different color. The one I saw was a darker color.

We were busy looking for a place to park- saw it while stuck in traffic, and by the time we parked on the other side of town and made it back towards where it was, we couldnt find it again! I know- lame!

Yes, Rosso Nearco is a darker car. And the one that I drove (old Ben Kao, Monty Meersma and now Tom G. in Wisconsin) had a black interior with the 5 speed. Serial number 48741.

Beautiful car. Could be. May have had more of a maroon sort of color. Love that color!

That is a great color for the lines of these cars. While I have a black one (and love it) I kind of prefer this shade of maroon.

I think this Ferrari was sold by F40 Wayne's shop in CT, it had SS exhaust that was just installed. Do no know who owns but very nice.

Nope, not me. Rosso Nearco doesn't have any metal flake in it, but agree by the pictures it sure could be the color.
