Its a daily addiction to head on over to BAT every now and then and check out the goods. To my surprise, they are auctioning off this car which appears to be non-running, although in decent shape. Here's the link - wonder if the highest bidder will come from this group?

    From the ad.....
"15″ Cromodora wheels are missing two center caps as highlighted in the photo gallery below. They are shod in 240/55 series Michelin TRX tires all around."

Uh, "no". The 15" wheels are not missing 2 center caps. However the metric 415 wheels are. (which by the way is fairly odd given this is a 1980 car)

As well as the car photographs, I am curious as to what makes it a Does Not Run example.
The observation that the wheels appear to come from a later iteration may be an indicator
that there are parts from bins here and there.

I agree that it's an early car to have TRXs (and the Nardi wheel). However despite an early 1980 build date, it was not sold until 4 June 1981 so I suspect that it was given 1981 model updates prior to sale. First owner was Pierre Chave of Switzerland who later had a 288 GTO. When Doyle Schiffman bought it at the end of 1988 it had 33,000 miles at that point (and 36,705 miles by early 1990) so has hardly been used since then given it is now showing 37,607 miles.

    $36,000.00 for a non-running automatic. Interesting...

It has taken a while but it appears the market has begun to realize these are the last of the traditional V-12's.

I agree. I would have guessed around $15k given the non-running engine. Maybe the buyer knew what the problem was and it won't require a tear-down?

All I know is that I'm keeping mine no matter what the price.

If the buyer wants to know where the original books are, I can point them in the right direction.

NB They are not part of my collection...
