While I wouldn't be the one to commission the destruction of a Boano, I'd have no problems having this in my garage post-rebuild.

Looks like, at a glance anyway, David Sydorick's (sp?) car.

I imagine a transformation like this isn't for the weak of heart.

If done by Zagato, that is a completely different budget than if done by some one else.

I wonder more about the specs and details.

Does Zagato still offer this service?

I'm sure it's not inexpensive, but yes, they do.

Ed, since 0515GT is my favorite Ferrari of all time, may I bother you to hear a few stories about this magnificent one-off?? How was it to own/drive?

Each of the Zagato-bodied 250 GTs was a little different and this one was apparently intended to replicate 0537. Compare the nose and a-pillars here: http://www.coachbuild.com/gallery/main.php?g2_itemId=41555

Pics of 0757's original high-roof Boano body here:

These would tend to contradict the myth that rebodies are usually of derelict cars that are too far gone to economiclly restore to their original configuration.

Apparently it was constructed by Paul Koot of Holland, working with Elio Zagato. Koot also worked with Zagato around the same time on a series of rebodied Integrales. Yes, I was fooled by the color scheme, which is that of 0515GT. The trunk on this replica is more like 0537GT, although not accurate. Honestly, the replica doesn't match either of the originals too well, but a pretty car nevertheless. Here are pix of 0537GT when in my custody. (1961)

Too bad. If you're going to sacrifice a car, at the very least, you'd better get it right.
