Can anyone identify this 250 GT SWB California Spyder? Is it real, and anyone know the serial? Image Unavailable, Please Login
Here is pic of this thing : http://www.sportscardigest.com/wp-content/gallery/ferrari-great-britain-concours-2011/d3s3203.jpg
I know you aren't interested in replicas. For those of us who can't afford the real thing it may be the only option.I have seen replicas which better represent the "real thing" than some of the restorations. Of course it is important that any restoration clearly represents its self as a restoration. Mine does.tongascrew
Some of the real cars have been messed up real BAD, but til this day I still haven't ever seen a proper replica out there.
I agree there are some bad examples that to me make the whole exercise of building a replica pointless but I have seen some better than some original examples they seek to copy. As to GTE based replica values they appear to start at £250k and I know of one that has sold for over £1m. What is interesting is that the increase in values of the traditional donor cars has resulted in a number of poor replicas being purchased and used in a new project.
The series two Multipla is a classic illustration of the old English saying.......you can't polish a turd but you can roll it in glitter.
I have no sympathy for people mocking Multiplas. To design a car with characteristic looks takes one person with guts. With a committee (i.e. bunch of kids playing with their computers) you get something else. It's a real pity. Ferrari fakes are like turds; showing pride for one makes people look the other way.
Roof contour looks suspicious, besides do you really expect someone would park a real car next to a fake?
+1 Forget about a replica of this level of car. Anyone can afford a mondial8. At least it's a REAL Ferrari. Shamile Freeze. ..Miami Vice!
The real pity Kare is the inevitable descent into repetive unimaginative statements and unessesary rudeness every time there is a post in this section
FYI, the original impetus for creating this sub-form was to keep track of the real Ferraris that had been butchered/cannibalized into fakes, not to glorify them.
