Yes he does, s/n 2365. It's in Alwin's shop like he said. That's why I don't understand why Kroymans had a replica made. Maybe Nick Mason could explain this (big wink!! ;)

    Ciao, Peter

This is the info you get when feeding the license plate in our Dutch road registration database, https://info.apk.nl/ovi/oviinvoer.aspx

    Voertuigsoort Personenauto
    Merk FERRARI
    Handelsbenaming 250 G.T.
    Kleur(en) Rood
    Brandstof Benzine
    Aantal cilinders 12
    Cilinderinhoud 0 cm3
    Aantal zitplaatsen 0
    Aantal staanplaatsen N.v.t.

    Massa ledig voertuig 1.454 kg

Datum eerste afgifte Nederland 5 december 2001
Datum eerste toelating 30 juni 1963
Datum aanvang tenaamstelling 16 januari 2002

    Vervaldatum APK 2 november 2002

    Short translation,
Ferrari 250GT, color RED, date first registered june 30 1963. June 30 is the date they always pick when only the year of the car is known, as June 30 is in the middle of the year.
Got a dutch registration dec 5 2001, current owner got it jan 16 2002.
APK (yearly required road safety check) until nov 2 2002 means it got checked before registration and then never checked again, this means it is not road legal unless driven with trader license plates.

Gee did not think they would be that heavy: 1454kg is a tank!, especially back in the 60's.

Nowadays with modern wanky safety stuff that is now light, but I really would have thought they would have been closer to the 1000kg.

I'd be surprised if it was 1454kg, seem very heavy to me. I know in some countries the vehicle registration authorities quote a maximum vehicular weight. What it means I've no idea :)
    Cheers

    Hi Peter, Alwin,

The SWB replica uses the chassis of 250 GTE 2+2 s/n 3725 GT,
wich was auctioned by the Dutch goverment as one of the seized cars from Charles Zwolsman. Kroymans bought this bordeaux car, had the engine installed into his 250 GTO s/n 4757 GT, and a new SWB body was put on the chassis. Alwin, do you know what happened to the original bordeaux GTE body? destroyed?

The original 250 GT SWB s/n 2365 GT came from Sheehan, and brought to Holland by Boel/Toto in March 1987, and sold to Kroymans. The car was seen on plates SJ-29-TL at the Nürburgring in august 1988, but I have never seen any pictures of the car with those plates, Anybody???
After 1990, the car was no longer stored in the basement at the Kroymans collection, but still owned by Kroymans. Due to a crash in the early 70's in the USA, it was since then fitted with a new front body from the middle of the front wheel wells forward, out of fiberglass. This is currently being perfectly restored by Alwin Hietbrink

    Any remarks/corrections/additions/pictures are welcom!

    Ciao,
    Marcello

    Hi Marcel,

You don't have to look far: I have seen these plates on the car when I took pictures in 1988 and 1990. I believe there's also a picture of this car with these plates in Cavallino about the Nürburgring event or I have it in my files. I'll get back to you after work.

    Ciao, Peter
