At the 22 July 1983 FCA annual meet in Elkhart Lake the license plate was "1635 GT" (yellow).

    Marcel,

This could very well be 1957GT. If it is, it still lives in Northern CA. Here's 1957GT today.

Where was it in 1984? Who owned it? In California? I hope my pic shows 1957 GT and that it survived.

Is that back window treatment "factory" or was it done later? I don't think I have ever seen a 250PF with that back window. I mush prefer the "regular" design. I'll take mine in dark grey with a light grey roof, or dark blue with a silver roof.

Just in Dallas alone, Bob Norwood told me he consumed about a dozen PF Coupes for various replica creations. He said it was the perfect chassis to use because of the dimensions. Much better than using a GTE for example.

0843 GT is a one-off, original factory car. Similar to 0841 GT and 0853 GT (see post #74). 0841 GT was sold new to Jean-Claude Roussel in Paris and 0843 GT was sold new to his brother Henry Roussel in Marseille. A member of the Roussel family is the father of billionaire heiress Athina Roussel-Onassis, who grew up here in Switzerland.

    Marcel,

All I know is that 1957GT lived in Orinda, California (Northern CA) in the 1990's. I can PM you the name and email of the current owner. You can ask him the details if you wish.

    Hi guys,

Is this thread inadvertently becoming the closest thing to an official 250 PF Coupe Owners Club Registry ? !!!

WOuldn't it be great to get as many of these cars together in one place at one time. Count me in if you come up with a time, date and location!

    Regards,
    Les

Anyone out ther have a set of 4 correct three ear knock on nuts for my 1959 PF Coupe? I'd be glad to buy a set.

I have recently purchased a fuel pump on Ebay which came off a Boano. The seller said it would fit the PF Coupe. Is he correct? Too late anyhow .... I've already paid for it.

    Regards,
    Les

To all Series 1 owners who constantly complain about the "atrocious" braking systems of the drum brake models.

I'm curious - how come we all complain about the drum systems, when the TDF ( with the same brake system) vehicles were driven as racing cars in the 1950's and won dozens of races.? We modern drivers treat these cars sedately, taking them gently on country jaunts and constantly criticise the braking. Is this a reflection on our poor driving skills, or were the original racing drivers light years ahead of us (or just plain maniacs) ?

    Regards,
    Les

A quick sidebar here, didn't Porfirio Rubirosa die in a 250PF?

I think Rubirosa died in a PF Cab but I could be wrong.

    John V.,

If you don't post pictures of your car I will! :)

On another note; I was looking at 250 coupes when I bought my 330. The car I went to see at Peter Markowski's shop was sold shortly before I got there. I ended up buying the 330 and falling in love. Sadly, the new owner bought the coupe for its engine so, the car is no more.

My gosh, Marcel, you are going to blow some gaskets here with all of these wonderful photos and information on the PF coupes. It is like walking onto a beach crawling with topless young women; can't get enough of it. Thank you for confirming the color code on my car, kind sir. Very nice.

Marcel: You must put all of this info into a PF book. This is terrific, thanks for sharing. My gosh, you are a gold mine.

To Jeff Burke, the car you photographed at SIR was parked outside turn 1 and off the end of the access road in the background. I drifted through that corner, oh, maybe a few hundred times, including in my 250 PF at Alfa Club events in the late 1970s. I would peek at the gauges going through there and we would be doing about 6500 rpm in 4th direct, probably about 130 mph on skinny little Pirellis. It was necessary to steer some reverse lock into the car's attitude or suffer a spinout. We know the owner of the Milton Inn on Pacific Hwy, she was our house sitter when a kid in Seattle.

To Art: the tail lights on the Boano where there when I bought it, but they do seem unusual, I agree. They may have been off some other kind of car. The car had not been hit, but had run over a median strip and the belly pan was gone and the undercarriage scraped. I stripped the ugly, baby-puke yellow off it, found a layer of red, and layer of bronze or gold, then the layer of a light dove gray. I painted it GM Corvette metallic silver.

correct. Driving thru a park in Paris after a night of carousing. the wreck didn't look that bad (as compared to post 101 of this thread!), but was head on into a tree that ended up located at the radiator. the man got thrown into the steering wheel and that was the end of him. I don't remember the s/n of the PF cab, or whether it was repaired . . .

Don't think so. 1063GT has GT/E side vents. I think the photos show either 1227GT or 1229GT. Don't know which, I have these two cars tangled in my files. Best wishes, Kare

Thanks Stuart. It is a strange color on this car. It changes with the light, sometime for better, sometimes for worse. Look at this one. It looks gray almost.

Who can guess which one this is? This happens to be my favorite color for the PF coupe.
