i know the mondial isnt the most desirable ferrari made, but i earn peanuts compared to, or it seems, the users on this site who own 3 or 4 first class ferraris. i really want a testarossa as i grew up with it on my bedroom wall, i dont ever invisage my financial situatuin to be able to allow me to own one which is sad, life is for living and thats all i want to do. id love to spank a couple of v12's round a track for an hour or so, just so i can tick those boxes in my lifes to do list. can any one help me on my quest? i also need to know why people buy exotic cars which are designed to be driven, but never use them? if i had some of the cars people own in this forum id show them off all the time, in fact id have no use for a house cos id never stop driving. i get depressed sometimes looking through the vehicles for sale ad's, £60,000 would make my life complete, its nothing in the scale of things in the world today, footballers earing that in the blink of an eye...whats life all about, why cant we all experience the feel of a new ferrari!

Man I'd love to own a Mondial. You sound really depressed! I want a Gallardo but for now I make do knowing the fact that I've driven a 911 Turbo, 360 Spider and a Murcielago as fast as I wanted on a track and for less than £400. It was FANTASTIC and worth every penny!!! I've seen a lovely F355 Spider RHD in dark Met Blue for less than £40K near me - I've got nowhere near that so I'll keep dreaming. Footballers piss me off 'coz I bet none of them appreciate what they have car wise except Becks may be as I know he loves cars. JayKay has much respect 'coz I know he loves all things Italian.

Very nice Mondial by the way. As far as I know, no one makes a 1/18 Mondial. A lot of people on this forum would like one though!

no mate im not depressed, you hit the nail on the head, people dont appreciate their things and how wonderful they are., been thinking of doing one of the track things you speak of with our lass, i always got the impression that itd be a case of , "slow down neil, do this neil do that neil". but if you say you screwed them all hard, thatll do for me!, theres been some on e bay recently for less than 100 quid, unwanted gitfs.

    I have two 1:1 scale Mondials :)

I have 2 of the diecast Mondials (both off eBay) but I will probably make a Mondial Z out of one when I have fininshed the full size one. Buy the next model off eBay and "restore" it to match your car.

    Hi Neil,

I did the Italian Supercar day at Thruxton (and got the 911Turbo thrown in!). I'm not a girl when it comes to driving but the instructors just kept saying 'bury it' - know what I mean and wow, when that big V12 opens up....

I know this year they're getting the F430 and F430 spider!

I can tell you all you need to know.
Hot wheels showed a mondial in 1/18 in one of their catalogues, but it was never put into production.

The only ones available now are 1/43rd resin models, which normally are pretty well detailed, discontinued models that you can find on ebay either built or unbuilt are Starter or Record, BBR or M&R still make them in Italy and they are available through specialist model dealers, there is a 1/43rd specialist dealer in wales I can't think of the name off hand

The only larger scale model of the mondial was by Polistil in 1/25th, I have two of these, they aren't that well made and don't have the back lights, just the recessed panel, I made some back lights out of pieces of broken back lights and indicators from a car, then smoothed them into a round shape with a dremell.

I can post some pics of them if you require

    Hope this helps Pete

sounds great, will deffo have to give it a try, wish there was an f40 that was available for a thrashing.
cant imagine the v12 sound, my humble 3.0 v8 sounds great. when i tell people my fave car is the f40, they always say "what the one without a radio!", im sure the cars sound track is quite substantial!

Here is my Mondy collection, I forgot about the first one, this is the biggest one available, it is made by Reel in Italy in the 80's, it is plastic and remote controlled, the dvd is there for scale

The second and third are the cheaply made polistil with no tail lights
The fourth pic is of two 1/43rd scale sitting on a dvd for scale

No I don't, it was a Hot Wheels catalogue in about 2001, it was in a local model shop they showed me the catalogue & there was a blank where the pic should be and it said 1/18 Mondial coming soon, I was told it was only for the US market, but they never made it.

Neil, I bet your 3.0 V8 sounds mega - you should hear my 2.0 TDi - it growls man! My fave fezza is also the F40. I was watching this in 'my ebay' - dunno why - way outta my league but it just looked stunning - no takers though.
