So has anbody dyno their 430? What kind of numbers did you get?
Yes, we have dynoed both F1 and 6-speed. F1 - 430 RWHP 6spd - 420 RWHP Not sure if F1 really makes a difference but those are the numbers we got. I'll double check the 6 spd dyno in the morning..but i'm almost positive it was 420+- a couple HP.
Wow! Thats impressive HP numbers at the wheels, considering they only have 490HP at the flywheel. 400HP+ at the bags would be awesome fun.
That difference is less than 3%. Unless you ran the cars back to back differences in weather conditions could have accounted for that. Other test conditions could also have contributed to differences.
Thats right mate. Hotter or colder weather.....Is the fuel in the tank stale compared to the other car....ect...ect....Also comes down to the driver. The engine are exactly the same GARYF. When I dynoed my 348, we did 6 ramp runs, and they were all very very close, give or take a few HP. They were done 6, in a row. The heat soak was obvious, as it lost a few HP on the last 2 ramp runs. The 1st 2 ramp runs, pulled the highest HP figure.
2WD Dynojet. I went back to the dyno to recheck the numbers: 6speed: 424.6 RWHP / 305.2 FTLBS. TRQ (72.6 Degrees Farenheight) F1: 432.3 RWHP / 304.4 FTLBS. TRQ (74.6 Degrees Farenheight) Dynos were not done on the same day.
What I meant was there are bound to be some engines slightly stronger than others off the assembly line. Since there is no difference between the gearboxes that must be where the discrepancy is, much more likely to be power differences between engines than power differences between identical gearboxes. I totally agree with you on that. Even if it's the same motor, it is possible that one might make more power then the other. It's just how it goes. The difference in power between the 2 cars was a few HP, but nothing major. If it was anything more then 10/15 RWHP..then I would be concerned. Just how the dice roll sometimes.
I have dynoed my 6 sp 430 and got 342hp at 8250hp in 4th gear at the wheels at our altitude of 1500m which means a drop of 17% on sea level figures ie equates to 410hp at sea level. Temperature was about 70 degrees F. My technician seemed to think that the results were pretty good for a car rated at 490hp. He also tested fuels timing etc and found them to be spot on. My 1998 355 spider with Tubi and optimised piggy back computer pushed 259hp some 7 years ago when we tested it on the same Dyno. What gear did you run the tests in and how high above sea level were you? I also assume that you were running standard air pressures in the rear tires
This F430 was dynoed two months ago, it read 427 RWP, while my F355 read 328 RWP. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yea it is a big car compared to the F355 isnt it. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
