The vent is called a donkey dick? Or the whole nose?

Funny the things you notice later. I never noticed the vent when I was taking the pictures. It was a frenzy to take pics as fast as possible before they kicked me out. I didn't notice much, just keep shooting!!!

They call it that whenever they have a hole on the nose... They use it when the weather is hot. Sometimes they tape over it.

Great write up Birdman! You did a much, much better job than I ever could have done to sort out the problem on your own (I have lots to learn!). Great job! :)

I think this thread and Manny's cross country Mondial (NY to TX) thread are indeed among the best.

I can't believe the irony of today.

The Mondial is almost done. I picked up the newly re-cored radiator this morning. All the hoses are in, I pulled the waterpump, replaced the hoses under the plenum, replaced the waterpump. Today I flushed the whole system and tonight I will put the radiator back in and fill with coolant. Working about 2 hours a night after the kids were in bed, it took me 5 nights so far.

Today I took the 308 out for a ride to do some errands. I went to the PO to ship some fuseblocks, got some gas, came home, parked the 308 in the garage, went inside for a while. I went back to the garage about half an hour later to close the garage door. This is what I found.

I started laughing maniacally. Do you think the 308 is jealous of the attention the Mondial is getting....or the condition is contageous?

FYI, in case you are wondering, one of the hoses under the carbs let loose. So as soon as the Mondial is done with all new hoses, I will start on the 308.

Hi Jonathan, great story with a happy ending.
I installed a set of 348 wheels on my Mondial.
    It helps the styling.
Glad you made it back safely.
    Sometimes I miss my 911.
But once I get in the Ferrari I am happy.
    take care
    Charles

I think the 308 is definitely jealous - and is now MARKING ITS TERRITORY! It's afraid of losing its garage space!!! :)

Jealousy. Nothing else can explain such a behaviour. He's pissed off! :D
But if your two Ferraris act as if they were real animals you might pop up the hood of the Mondial one morning and find a little growing Ferrari inside! :)

Yes the 308 is definitely jealous, just like a pet, you will have to spend time with her and make fer feel loved. About the only thing you can do about the whole situation is laugh.

LOL! At least you'll know that the hoses for both your Ferraris will be in good order forever! :p Talk about timing!

Yeah, I'll be good to go on hoses for another 20 years! The whole thing cracks me up.

My wife said that I would have been PO'd if it hadn't just happened to the Mondial and I was in a hose-replacing mood anyway. As it was, it was just funny. I knew the hoses on the 308 needed doing, I was just putting it off. nothing like a little hint!
