Chase...That is BEAUTIFUL! Question though: Why would you expense all that time and use pine (Not busting your balls on wood preference, as every craftsman has there's)? With all of the high-end woods availabable on the internet REAL CHEAP (i.e.: like www.cocobolo.com), why the hell not?

We wanted to match the wood used for all the cabinets of the rest of the house, we called the original builder to ask what wood and stain were used. What you cannot see in the picture is that right across that hall is the bar, and the cabinets behind and underneath including the front face is all that same wood and stain.

We wanted this to look like something that was always there, rather than something we added in. So also, the door was ordered to match our front door, the tiles behind the glasses are the color to match the stone floor, and the use of iron was "rusted" to match the rest of the "old world" theme.

In this pic you can see the front face of the bar and the cabinets behind. On the far right of the pic, you can just see where the door of the wine closet is, the handle is stick out. This pic is after the walls were pained that dark red "faux" finish.

    :)
