A question for the informed...will a euro F40 ever be permitted to enter the US ? I have heard many answers to this question, but nothing definitive. Fuel bladders ? chassis/frame modifications ?

Is there a point in time when no mods or epa/dot concerns will be of issue ?

I believe since it is out of production, one can get it for show and display... and once it is 25 years old, the regulations open up a bit... but there are some people here who know a lot more...

If this is the same car I think it is. The price has actually gone up! I've tried to contact the seller in the past to no avail. Anyone else know the whole story?

This F40 is owned by Vahe and Claudia in Malibu, California. It stated off being advertised at $655k. It was increased to $672k. Just this morning Vahe told me by phone that his wife would be amending the Ad to reflect $675k. I see tonight that they have indeed done so.

Coincidentally this is the same price that Family Classic Cars sold their 1990 F40 for, also with 700 miles, last month.

As the seller tells it to me, a family bereavement means that they are no longer able to use the car and so it is for sale. He also said that he was of the mindset that if he did not get his price he would keep it. As of today the car remains available and the seller wishes direct contact.

I should clarify that I do not know the sellers or their particular F40, nor do I represent them or the car. I am also unaware as to how they established their price level or why it has been changed twice.

I was given a phone call earlier to confirm that this is indeed #3. The owner was previously unaware. Seems the owner before current has his own interesting story. I'm unsure yet how many owners this car has had. It is safe to say that the broker, and previous owner were also unaware. Does it add value...? It doesn't matter, except for insurance purposes for now. This car won't be leaving its stable for at least 30-40 years.
