Tillman - are you logged in? I see the same thing if I am NOT logged in. If I am logged in, it works fine for me.
Yep, I couldn't post otherwise. I understand not seeing them if you're not logged in, but this is inconsistent for me on the same machine. EDIT: in fact, I can't even see MY attachments Image Unavailable, Please Login
Add 'www' to the front of your URL. ? p.s. If you're really on-line, why is your little light grey instead of green?
The www seems to have fixed it, but that doesn't explain why it WAS working without it last night. Too inconsistent for my taste
I know, that's why this needs to be figured out. You'll note that I'm not the only one having problems with it.
Hmmm, Didn't work. Uploaded the picture, rolled across the attachemnt name and got the number from the bottom of the page. I had to mis-spell attach, other wise when I post it, it just says attachment 1204552633 I typed, This is my pet, View attachment 1204552633 And this is what he eats, View attachment 1204552792 What am I missing here?
Here I got all excited and thought - FINALLY! - we can use the tags to post inline photos. The thing is it would all be a lot easier if we could just use the [IMG] tags to post externally hosted pictures - like on practically every other vB-based forum on the internet. I really don't like uploading MY pictures to a forum that won't let ME manage them.
I understand that reason but I think it's ridiculous to have my personal photos become the property of the forum. You can't delete them, can't edit them, and once your space is used up, you are SOL. I belong to many online forums and this is the only one that doesn't allow externally hosted photos. All those other forums seem to get along just fine despite the occasional missing photo. This limitation isn't going to make me go away (and this is one of the few forums where I've paid for a subscription) but for me it would be just that much better if I could host my own pictures. I know I would certainly post a lot more of them.
Better have a go at this myself, I guess. This is not my car either. Front ¾ view: Rear ¾ view: Ricer Motor: Did it work ?? Edit: No it didn't !! Well, not first time anyway. Maybe I'm trying to be too clever. Front ¾ view: Image Unavailable, Please Login Rear ¾ view: Image Unavailable, Please Login Ricer Motor: Image Unavailable, Please Login If in doubt - read the instructions. This attempt just using the attachment number. O.K. Thanks, Daniel. Looks like I sussed it.
^ small pictures don't work well unless you use multiple {ENTER} keys to build space between them, and perhaps even a little caption or something.
So do I need the full URL as I have used ? Or just the file-name ? Daniel. Thanks for the tip. I did have a short caption on each one, but possibly with insufficient spacing. I'd also used the full URL for the attachment, first time (which didn't work) instead of the just the filename.
A 't' (or two). There are 2 t's in attach not one as you typed. Nor for that matter are there 3 .... as I sometimes type myself (attatch) - one of my favourite spelling mistakes.
Just reading back through all the previous posts, this seems to work for most folks - but 2 or 3 different ways .... .... some, like Tillman and Dave M. are using the file-name; others the FChat attachment ID #. Or am I missing something ?
Tillman, very strange, I was viewing from thebestemployee, and saw what you saw, then went to ferrarichat domain, could see images, then went back to thebestemployee, and could see images... my experience mimmicked yours just now, and I was changing different variables, and so it leads me to think that it wasn't a www issue for you, it may have been some kind of time related issue (ie working for all, now not working for all, now working for all again?)
If I roll over the attached file it highlights it in red and that is it--No attachment name or id shows up...
