How many miles are on your 360?

    99 360F1, 27,000 miles and never had a problem beyond regular service. I would drive it more but I also have a 99 355 F1 spider that gets some miles as well.

    I could care less about miles, it's going to depreciate wether it has no miles or lots of miles.

    my lord people.. do we have ANY cars with actual REAL MILEAGE?

    I mean 39k miles? come on people..

    I want to see some real mileage on these cars!!! I am talking like 80k-120k cars!

    anyone have anything like that?

    The highest mileage 360 I've seen had around 60K, know of a 430 with almost 50K on it...

    Sorry, but this is all rather pathetic. None of the cars reported here have enough miles to even discern if the cars are reasonably reliable. In my world, a car with less than 40K miles is still a new car. Witness the BMW M5s with 160K miles, the Porsches with 100K miles, the Honda's with 200K miles and still going strong. While I'm sure (hope, hope) the 360s are "bullet proof", how could one possibly know? And, notwithstanding the claims "ferrari's are meant to be driven", all the posts here suggest the cars are garage queens in the real world of things. This is all IMHO, of course, and I kneel as you throw hot coals on my heat.

    100% agree.. for us to have any real clue about these cars as reliable we need at least a good amount of them to be driver to 100k miles or more.. even 60k miles is really quite minor in a car such as a m5 or m3..

    we need to see many of these cars going over 100k miles to get an idea of the true value with long term and long used purpose.

    While I 100% agree with you that 40k isn't enough to really determine the viability of the 360 at "real" high mileage, I also don't that 20-30k miles on a 360 makes it a garage queen. Remember, these cars in day-to-day life are somewhat useless: you can't take your kids (under 13ish) out in them, kinda pointless to take to the grocer unless your picking up a few items. Not a weekend travel car if you have a family... my point is, to really get 100k+ miles you either have a horribly long commute or your doing big long getaway drives. These cars aren't mean for either, which is why I would suggest we don't see many/any 100k+ cars.

    While I could easily put on 5K - 7Ka year, here in the northeast, the car is not drivable about a quarter of the days (snow for example) and it is no fun to drive another fourth of the time (in the rain when roads are slick or in commuter traffic) and other times when I would take it, a two seater with limited trunk count it out. While I get a big thrill driving it, long trips can be tiring in part because of tubi drone and in part because all its capabilities don,t mean much on a crowded interstate with vascar all over the place.

    no offence to anyone but most people are spending 120k plus usa on these cars and people in nw country aus 250k average. Now you can afford such thing but i see they are always sitting in garages and here in aus the average ks on these cars are 14000k to 25000k. In my family we have 2 ferraris and im young and love to drive it around so i got 48000ks on a 2001 360 and 5500 on cs. I believe if you got the money to buy it and spend so much then why not use it to the full value.

    Did Ferrari do anything with the 360 like they did with the 355, driving it around the world?

    We are seeing 3xx cars with +100,000 miles so I don't think mine is "all used up" yet.

    A 9K car is in a whole different class from a 30K car. I'll bet you you could not even get Alger or many dealers to show a 360 with 30k+. I know I have never seen a high milage car on their web sites. A low milage car depreciates about 10 grand a year. A 30K car probably gets hit with a one time 30 grand haircut in addition and the dealer you trade it to has to auction it off because it would never do to sully their reputation with such goods.

    Like I said if you can afford it, and no one has any business buying these cars if it is not extra money, and the wear tear depreciation does not upset you, driving it is a great way to have fun. I know I enjoy every minute behind the wheel. I also like that other post saying that if you put out 125 for a car it seems silly to deny yourself enjoying it for the potential loss of a few thousand. Bravo. After reading that I am going out tomorrow (Sunday) morning, my favorite time to drive, and put some smiles on.

    Well, maybe my use of the term "garage queen" was misplaced, and I certainly don't want to disparage the owner who, faced with so many competing priorities, still manages to put 5-10K miles a year on his/her car. The bottom line, as you aptly put it is "these cars in day-to-day life are somewhat useless", and that's precisely why my CS, that I love dearly, sits most of the time in my garage. 80% of the time I grab the keys for the SUV, dog in back, kids strapped in, going for the groceries, accepting the gridlock, rain pissing down everywhere. 7% of the time its my Porsche 993TT, a car I'm comfortable leaving at indented parking spaces along the highway if/when I go on a day trip and go hiking for 2 hours somewhere. And then there's the marvelous 3% of the time I grab the keys for my CS, usually for some dedicated, purposeful exotic car drive. It's tough to rationalize tying up so much $$ in a car that sits so much. That's something 99% of the Fwannabees can't appreciate and won't understand until they have one.

    Maybe the low milage club is rational.

    It seems it costs about a dollar a mile to maintain. Low miles depreciation is about 10 grand a year.

    So if you drive 3K a year it costs you 10 grand depreciation plus 3 grand maintenance = $ 13,000 to own per year.

    If you drive 30K in two years you pay 10 grand depreciation plus 30 grand high milage depreciation plus 30 grand maintenance all over two years = $35,000 to own per year.

    That is quite a hit for driving extra miles. Twenty two thousand dollars per year extra or almost two thousand dollars a month.

    It's going from roughly $ 1,000 per month (13K a year) to $ 3,000 per month (35K a year)

    The increased cost of driving a lot is a lot more than the total cost of driving a little. Ignoring tied up capital or financing if no capital, insurance, etc.

    As pointed out above, when people buy 360's and such they usually have 1+ regular cars for regular stuff. Well, if they drive 20k a year, maybe say 2-5k is actually for fun? 99 360s would have ~40k or so. Given time, some will go very high. I just put like 500 miles in the first 2 days, and I still have a few more days.

    There was an article in the UK edition of Autocar magazine last year when a guy had put 120,000 MILES on his 360.

    I disagree. Coming from the 308/328 world, where we still see a good number of 25 year old cars with <40,000 miles on the clock, I think the mileage on 360s tends to be far higher per year than it is for the 308/328s (the first generally reliable production Ferraris). In fact, a 328 with 60,000 miles showing is pretty well into the 'driver' category, even if that means only ~3,000 miles per year the car has been in existence. Sounds to me like the owners here really are getting good use out of their cars -- much more so than those of us who own the old ones.

    As others have posted, almost no one uses these cars every day, so comparing them to a BMW, Porsche, etc., kind of misses the point. Even if there were no odometer, a Ferrari really isn't an everyday car (except maybe the 599/612, but those are more touring cars -- the 360 is the heir to the 308).

    Also, reliability is a function of age and miles. The 360s are coming up on 10 years old -- old car territory -- so we'll see how the electronics and chassis fare over time.

    Bought 02 F1 360 spider Feb. 2007 with 4.5K miles, now it has 21K miles, I've had no problems and have the dealer do routine maintanence, but it now needs a clutch - its my daily driver March - November, unless its raining. I love it.

    '99 360 F1 42,000 miles. Drive it every day, except...when it needed a new F1 pump ($2,000), a new F1 actuator ($5,000 installed-for a one out of a wrecked 6,000 mile car-a new one was $9,000 installed, $7,500 just for the part!), a new F1 TCU ($2,000), reprogramming the TCU when it wouldn't go into reverse. So other than the F1 tranny it's only needed routine, if Ferrari expensive, maintainence. Is it worth it? Only if you love the cars-and can afford it!
