A few more spy pics. Don't know if we've already seen them , but their is some more of the bodywork revealed along the bottom in front of the rear wheel in one pic. http://www.caradvice.com.au/35498/2010-ferrari-f450-spied/
Yes....the side is clear....i mean..the "almost scoop" near the side skirts are clear....and the rear diffuser. I dont like what i see in the front spoilers...some kind of wings. And those scoops on the front fenders......omg...we need to tape that on a real car Those are like the triangle scoops from aircrafts. I dont get it...Ferrari put lots of stupid aerodinamic scoops and wing on this car.I'm sure that if they remove all that they wont lose more than 0,2 seconds on a lap. Why they dont use a clear design!!!!!!!!!!?????????
I find this really funny, week by week there are small bits and pieces of camouflage coming off. Now we can see the bottom of the side skirt, rear diffuser and also a very good indication of the front bumper, this part worries me the most, im sure the rear will look very cool with the centered exhausts and huge 599 tail lights but the front bumper curving upwards in the middle is my concern. Oh and from the photo it seems the lady in the green car behind is having a "crisis". Image Unavailable, Please Login
Ha! She's covering her ears from the exhaust sound, though it looks like her kid in the back seat loves it
"Crisis", HA! Love it. You know, the area around the front intakes are painted black, not matching the body color...interesting. The more I look at it the more it looks like it might really resemble our fellow F-chatter Ingegnere's sketch. The black painted area could be modeled to resemble a front wing on an F1 car with the area in the center that is blocked by camo rounding up just like his sketch. Hmmm.... I agree that I "saw" through the camo quite well Good point about the detail looking like an F1 front wing - that's what I thought also. I think my sketch for the back is pretty good too, with what looks like a double-decker diffuser (like the Cali). Even guessed the location of the high-mounted third light: http://74.86.28.138/~ferrari/forum/showpost.php?p=138808769&postcount=1997 Guess we don't need those teasers anymore, just wait for the real thing.
I wonder about the change from 4x tail lamps to 2x. Of course the 599 is down to 2x lamps only, but on the bread-n-butter 8-cylinder cars, the 4x tail lamps are often like a defining element in modern Ferraris. The poor TR and 348 have been accused of tail-envy since the minute they hit the road. Ferrari immediately reverted to 4x lamps on the 512M and of course on the F355. Time will tell. That 'rise' in the front bumper might have something to do with pedestrian impact regs, eh?
Very disappointing if it looks anything like that. Is Ferrari running out of design ideas or what? If the F450 looks like that its nothing but an evolution of the 430. I was hoping for a completely new design. I hope Ferrari doesn't get into rehashing the same car over & over like Lamborghini. Hopefully this car will trick everyone & look more Enzoish than 430ish. The 360&430 are beautiful & its time to move on from that basic styling IMO.
Perhaps think about it this way: The basic layout of the entry level V8 sports car in Ferrari's lineup has been the same for the last thirty years. Building on a particular design and continuing a line of cars based on that design means that it probably won't ever completely change... A more appropriate term would be evolution. There were leaps, of course, but never anything too crazy and progressive: The 328 to 348, and the 355 to 360. This is because after a while, the public does begin to desire something new to shake things up and demonstrate technical forward progress (unless that customer shops for 911s... ) But don't ever expect anything radical...the customer base for this car is too strong to deviate from a well rounded, approved-of norm. It will evolve, no doubt. But not so much that it fails to pull along the old faithful that Ferrari must have in order to survive.
Just my 2 centavos but I think the car IS gonna be much different... The rear air intakes on top in those tunnels seem killer, the rear end seems to be much wider, lower and distinctive. The lines on the sides appear to give the car a lower profile and the dash even looks much different from my limited observations.. Yeah the front scoops may seem similar but I too bet the final design will be unique in its own way... The car will not be a Gallardo clone but much changed... Mark My Words... I have a reliable source!!! (OK, the last part was thrown in for laughs, I know nobody....) Tony..........
I see what you are saying, but IMO the 355 looks nothing like the 360. Two completely different styles and beautiful design.
As long as it has returned to be a good looking car I'll be happy ... the F430 is just too edgy, yuck. Pete
True. But line the cars up side by side and, especially from the rear, the same basic idea can be seen in each car. You're right: they aren't exactly similar, but the notions of progression are clear. I'm not saying that each successive model will be completely similar or completely different from the previous one. I'm just saying that more than likely Ferrari are going to seek a norm that doesn't travel too far from their own well-established solid ground.
I agree that from the front, it generally resembles the 430, but I think it's more of mix between the Dino and the Enzo - with some details borrowed from the P4/5. The beltline rising, then continuing onto the rear deck and defining the edge of the rear window and the pronounced hump of the front fender (noted by Napolis on the first spy pics of the black car) are clearly influenced by the design of the P4/5. Even the crease along the door mimics the P4/5's side scoop and, like the 4/5's, this mirror-images the rising beltline. In these shots, you can see that the car has some very nice proportions and looks pretty compact. The sweep of the A-pillar and roof line is the nicest since the BB: http://www.spyshots.nl/SpyShots/Lading_nieuwe_spyshots_Ferrari_F450?fotoid=8 http://www.motorauthority.com/gallery/2011-ferrari-f450-spy-shots/2011-ferrari-f450-prototype-spy-shots-july-004.html
I dont know about you guys but after waking up every morning, the first thing I do is coming in this thread wishing to see pictures of that new F450. So it is 3am now, im going to bed and going to be back in this thread in around 7-8 hours. See you guys!
I still think you have another month or more. I can't see them releasing photos until about the first week of Sept. They may even wait until the Frankfurt show opens in mid Sept. So, get your rest and forget about the rumors.
Sad though it may be to admit this, you are not alone... Even though I know there probably isn't going to be any new 'news' for a few weeks, I just can't help myself! The excitement is building - so this had better be good!!!!!
That is a great sketch i did not see that before, front looks a lot better too but im curious to know where they plan on having the license plate mounting area. Europe, UK and parts of Asia have some rather large front plates.
Same thoughts over here. The 355 was clearly an evolution from the 348 en the 360 was obviously a complete new model compared to the 355. The 430 was again an evolution from the 360. So I'm expecting an all new design...
