Thanks for all the help and insight Dr. T. QUOTE=Dr Tommy Cosgrove;139429981]exciting isn't it?[/QUOTE]
Fram oil filters are a "no no" on our cars, find the proper UFI or locate the local (truck stop/Peterbuilt) distributor handling Baldwin, and score a B253. Welcome to the "Blue Ferrari Club"!!!!! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Beautiful blue 308. So where do I get the UFI filter? And, should I replace the filter even though we are not due for an oil change? Is the problem with the Fram filter that it will allow contaminants into the engine?
Chip - if you're headed down to the Charlotte show this weekend, I'll bring one as a "welcome to the club" present. If not, PM me your address and I'll just send one out via FedEx Ground. We're only 50 miles down the road, so it's a quick delivery p.s. WELCOME ! http://www.ricambiamerica.com/product_info.php?products_id=93 .
Thanks for the welcome and the potential for a gift! Unfortunately, I have family obligations that will prevent me from getting to Charlotte this weekend. I do look forward to connecting with you guys soon though. Chip
no the problem with fram filters is the inferior design actually causes them to blow apart... Nice score from Daniel! You can also get Baldwins at most truck parts stores
I think just swapping the oil filter out will suffice if the oil was just changed. I don't know if the fram has a check valve in it or not. So be careful there
It's so easy to do an oil change, I'd do an oil and filter change unless you have documentation that the oil was done very recently. As far as leatherique, I've used the Rejuv Oil and Prestine Clean many times over the years. I've found that you REALLY have to get some heat in the seats to get the Rejuv Oil to work anywhere near its best. The best is to leave them in the car, covered with plastic (don't use any plastic that has ANY printing on it!!!), for at least one full day on a hot day where the interior gets 100 degrees or more. (You can take the seats out and put them into another car/SUV if you don't want yours sitting all day). The hotter the better. I've found if you use the Rejuv Oil with room temp only (say 65-75) it mostly just sits on the top of the leather and doesn't do much.
