As do I...great frikn car..have bought several from this collector.. BOTH owners probably not up to the "show and shine" standards of Florida.....
On second thought, everyone knows there is no "love" lost between Tony and I...so what the heck here is the PM I just sent him... "Lets make sure we are on the same page here. If you have something to say about a car of mine, say it, I have nothing to hide. You are welcome to talk what ever you want about me or my cars...I am a big boy and can surely take care of my self...even when it comes to you. Say your piece, but dont make "snide" little child lost in his sand box comments....say what you have to say bad or good. Thanks Roy Cats"
Roy, You can read what you like into my statement, I have nothing against you or your cars. There are about 39 or so Silhouettes in the world and being the past owner of one of the best examples, I know most of the owners. I have never bashed one of your cars so I'm not sure what page you're on? Tony
Tony, Your old '78 Silhouette was incredible!!! Steve Trafton took excellent care of that car, and he won 1st place at the Italian Concours with it a couple times! Simply Stunning! Here is a photo I found of it driving up to victory lane back in 2001 (me on the right in the sunglasses): Mike Image Unavailable, Please Login
Mike: that is the 38th Silhouette, chassis number 40076, delivered 15/05/78 to Ferrari Concessionaire Luigi Chinetti, New York, USA. It became the personal car of Coco Chinetti, his son. Featured in a Patrick Bedard written article in Car & Driver Jan '79. A nice Gold-colored one restored by Ultimate sold at auction last week. Chassis 40066. That is beautiful Joe! I just don't get it...... why do you think that the Silhouette has never taken off in value? With only (52? 55?) built, I would think they'd be HIGHLY desirable and collectible! Is it just they don't have the V-12 Lamborghini Mystique? Heck, If I had the money I'd snatch up Roy's! Mike
Thanks Mike. It is a special car, I speak to the current owner and advise him on things to do before he shows it. He has won a few trophies with it since. I have the right of first refusal and intend on buying it back when he is ready. nice car, Roy! i think you should keep one silhouette as part of your permanent collection (given there are so few around) it was for sale at Bobileff and let me say, i thought about it too (...but it is time consuming to register a US car here and red is not my first choice on lambo, so i passed on it) i am a huge fan of these little rare machine and hope to get a sil. sooner or later p.s. i have 1 owner's manual in case your is missing
+1 Keep her Roy! I must say that I really miss that sound of my Jalpa's V-8. WOW! Let me tell you, on a full throttle acceleration, the Lambo V-8 really makes the hair on the back of your neck stand up!!! Mike
yes, in my opinion the sil. looks better inside-out and not that the jalpa is ugly or a bad car!! that V8 roars at 6k > and believe me: i am a jalpa fan ......for some good reasons to me silhouette > jalpa > urraco today's value are also in the same order
