There were only about 10 black UK Strad's. Don't suppose you have the UK registration plate it was on ? When was it imported ?
Also try club scuderia - guy on there has access to all of the VIN's.

Hi Rick I think it was Imported Into Australia around the end of 2010. I dont have the Uk number Plate Details. It has around 16000 miles. If I could find some history on it I can then confirm that the miles are correct and that it was not involved in any major accidents in the UK prior to being imported.I will also try the UK site. Thanks Regards Gary.

Have you done a PPI on it ? Plugging in an SD2 computer will verify the miles via the gearbox ecu. Alot of imports have massively different odometer readings compared to the transmission stored amount.

No problem, thanks for your reply. The CarPoint ad says it's in km's but I guess it should be miles since it's an UK car.

Are you sure this is from the UK and not NZ as the odometer is in km not miles, 3 CS have been exported from NZ to Aust.

Hi Rick yes he did. He gave me some history on previous owners that I would not of been able to find out my end including original rego numbers. Thanks for the information. My ferrari mechanic has just completed my pre purchase check and has quite a long list. One concerning thing is that it has been in a past accident and the front windscreen has been replaced possibly because of this. I really have to think hard about purchasing it now even though the price is good. I guess its the old story " you get what you pay for ". Having 2 F cars currently I really dont want to buy a lemon thats a money pit.

As people have stated, there where only 10 black CS's...

I know several of those cars (and they are still in the UK).

I did once see a Black CS with a very very heavy front end shunt for sale on UK ebay (about 4 years ago). I assumed it would go for spares.

..Indeed I may still have the old pictures somewhere on my hd but it was VERY hard. i..e virtually nothing left at the front and the front windshield was also cracked too. Someone wasn't wearing a seatbelt and you could see the impact into the shield (not sure if that person is with us today judging by how bad it looked)...

Hoping its not the same car.. Odd's indicate otherwise though so be extra vigilant!

Thanks for the info Trev. Sorry for the late reply as I have been offline for a while now due to work commitments. I have spoken to Tim at Walker Sport and he can have a ppi done for me with the info of the car I have, If I decide to go ahead with it. The only thing that worries me is, if it was not repaired through insurance then nothing will show up. It would be interesting to find out which car that actually was. Thanks again, kind regards Gary.

    Hi guys.

I am new to Ferrari Chat and have recently come across this thread re. the black Challenge Stradale VIN #137681 for sale in Australia (imported from the UK).

I have inspected the car myself. The car has 14,525 Km's on the clock and looks very clean.

As part of obtaining Australia compliance the odometers are changed. So the reading should be true and correct. Noting the brake discs show absolute minimal signs of wear.

I have had a mechanic check the car out and all seems fine. It looks and drives excellent.

The car was Australian complied in September 2011 and has a complete Ferrari service history (all logs books come with the car).

I have conducted an Australian history check on the car and all checks out fine. However, I have no history / detail of the car when it was in the UK.

I was wondering if anyone may have any additional info on this car?

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thank you,

    Morrie
