Dino DIY - Alternator Fuse Box, modern replacement

The Alternator fuse box is rare, very expensive, uses a proprietary 60 Amp fuse and ends up melting in many cars.
In my case, a PO (previous owner) must have thought it wise to overlay some wire and solder preventing the fuse from breaking. I can't conjecture on why, but I sought a modern solution.

I went to a local mobile audio store "Car Toys" and they sell a 60 Amp version for car stereos - four 60Amp fuses cost $7 and you can find them for sale locally rather than sending across the Atlantic for them.

I enlarged the mounting hole to fit the 6mm stud on the firewall, adjacent to the standard alternator fuse box and mounted it there.

The connectors are secured with a collar and allen screws provide the clamping power. The fuse casing is sealed with O-rings and the clear polycarb case allows easy viewing of the fuse condition.

My only concern is if the heat in the engine compartment will affect the casing, but I've rationalized that high power stereos also generate continuous heat in the lines which might be similar. I'll keep updating as time goes, but it is fully functional.
