Wow...this is some good money and reserve is not met, and the car is a 95. Could not even get anything near that 6 month ago on my 2000 456 gtm...

There has been some discussion about this car here or on another forum - evidently it has been for sale for a long time.

Warning bells on a number of levels. Thepictures are of very poor quality; the windows are rolled down so you can't see the extent of the window gap-I'd bet it's significant; there's wrinkling/bubbling on the HVAC controls; the price is way out of line, even for a pristine model with complete history; it has F360 wheels (the fronts are too narrow); and the seller has no feedback.

Wow... He's crazy to keep the reserve on at this level. It is a beautiful color and the GT is more desirable but this seems extremely high. I'd be surprised if my MGT with a third the miles and fresh service could bring this money. Maybe the 6 speeds are coming back in price? They sure have been a bargain in my opinion.

I was bidding on this one until about 40k. Yes, the blurry photos seemed odd, but I just figured it was a fire sale. I'm no longer interested at this price point...

I can almost say for certain that this car has not only been painted but has been in some sort of an accident. Just look at the way the passenger side head light aligns with the hood. Its horrible…..

    This ebay crap is BS....

I wonder how these bad deals on eBay happen? Do they create a false account or have a buddy bid it up just under the reserve hoping the next bid takes it over? I'm not saying that's what happened here but I'm curious how these deals work because I've seen many that just don't look right...

This car has been listed at least four times, with prices all over the place. He's trying to get 70,000 for it and doesn't get it that the car isn't worth that. The time before this it was listed with a starting price of $45,000, no bids. Why would it be bid to $69,600 one week later?

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260528732739&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT

I'm sure this is nothing but another ebay buddy bidding scam, because it was bid way out of any reality, right up to his price but not over it. He's listed it for $70,000 on other venues, and had "buy it now" amounts at $70,000.

My opinion, a $35,000 car. That's the most you could spend considering all of the obvious issues and risks.

Ha! He could at least write ROSSO QUALCOSA and it would at least sound cool... And I do like the steering wheel upgrade...
But you're right about eBay- lots of scams and bad apples and they don't seem to do anything about it.

    CAVEAT EMPTOR....

eBay is my first stop when shopping for anything. So many good deals to be had.

That said - anyone with a brain will be highly suspicious of an auction from a seller with ZERO feedback. I doubt this guy will get any bids at this price... it was worth a chance at $30k, but not now.

I contacted the seller two weeks ago about this car...I offered him 40k he said he had offers in the mid 50's - so I bid him good luck and suggested he take that offer of 55k - only to find the car relisted again and again...His friends must have bid up his car in the hopes of drawing a fool in at 70k range... Hopefully ebay will delist him and the car!

I've responded to SO many ads selling 456m's (ebay, auto trader, cars.com) and NO ONE gives a straight answer to questions. I can ask- Does it have any leather shrinkage and they will respond "all services are up to date" Then I can say- Oh what service did it have? And they'll say "the car is perfect". I got so frustrated I gave up. Oh... The other kicker was that most were stuck on the high 60's price. Maybe it's me, but I just don't see that....

This is the ex-Nicolas Cage car that was formerly liveried in chameleon paint.

Between November, 2007, and January, 2008, this car was listed for sale on yourcarlot.com by Edwin McConnell (951.656.5400), chameleon paint with black leather, 17,500 miles, $53,000.

Then in July of 2007, it was for sale on eBay through Richie Sang of Laguna Niguel, CA, 17,526 miles, 30K service done 10/06, Corsa exhaust system, starting bid of $56,000.

Yea, when I saw the pic I thought this car had been talked about more than a year ago. That or there is another car where the did not bother to get the hood aligned right or the passengers side headlight cover right...one or the other...or BOTH.

This car is a HUGE JOKE! ebay...bunch of idiots out there...

I wanted that car! That's too funny- I did a "Tour of the Star's Homes" or whatever they're called in Hollywood years ago and at his house that car was one of the few not under cover- seriously he had at least a dozen cars outside in a huge driveway all covered in silver car covers. But that chameleon was cool and come on - you got love the Coppola nephew from Fast Times at Ridgement High...

You should've made an offer back then! It seems to be going up in price as the paint and miles change. :)

Let me get this straight - someone painted over the chameleon paint? That was a dumb move IMHO. The history of the previous owner, combined with unique paint, I'd be interested! But not now... this color sucks - knowing it's a color change makes it worse.

I wih I could remember exact details- but I'd say it was probably 3-4 years ago on eBay for $60k or so which I thought was a deal with the celebrity status. I remember pictures of the BoS with flowing caligraphy with his name and such. And believe it or not the paint looked cool (at least in the pics). I wonder if red was the original color or if the factory did the green?

    We need a registry...
