I'm getting the Dino repainted. '72 US spec GT for those who have forgotten. :)

The current discussion is about what the front grill should look like.

Is it all black, matt or satin finish, or is it brushed aluminum on the outside, and matt black on the center portion only?

Here are a couple of pictures of different cars.

I am pretty sure it is alluminium on the outside, pop-rivetted in place, with the slats in satin black

Do not sand the black color on the Dino grill as it is hard anodized, clean only and only repaint if the anodizing is damaged. This anodizing is very durable and seldom needs attention unless someone before you has repainted. Do a quick check before any restoration. The back supports for the horizontal (black) pieces are aluminum colored either natural or anodized.

My 72 GT grill is all aluminum. Looks like it was bead blasted with a very fine texture before anodizing. No grain. Probably small glass beads rather than sharp grit. Gives a satin sheen. Vert and horiz pieces are black anodized. Surround is clear anodized. Held in place by two self tapping screws.
