Amazon has it for sale too - I think it's like $41. or close to that... Circuit City is the cheaper price....

Looking forward to seeing the 308!

Well, my trusty Fed Ex guy just delivered season 1 of Magnum PI - I can't wait to get home to see the Ferrari 308!

No idea about season 2 or beyond.... I think the studio usually waits to see how well season 1 does....

Will also pick up a copy this weekend. Magnum PI was probably my most favorite TV show. It definitely made a (Ferrari) impression on me.

Any way to search for episodes where they show the 308 alot?

Just watched the first two episodes. He jumps in the 308, unlatches the roof, SLIDES IT BACK, and drives off, with no sign of the roof laying on the rear deck or the ground. I want one of those for my 328.

Many good Ferrari scenes, and there are 22 episodes in the set. More than I thought.

Hahaha. I saw that as well. It was like the first or second scene with him and the car. He reaches over to the right back side only and unloosens ONE latch. I did notice that the top was already stashed away under the leather cover behind the seats, so my guess is that "the crew" just stood behind out of camera shot and just pulled it back for him. Good catch though, I thought I was the only one who noticed that. :)

IIRC, that would be the episode entitled "Summer School" (originally aired Jan. 9, 1986) -- this is the one where Robin Master's nephew impersonates Magnum P.I., with very dangerous consequences. Quite a few chase scenes, burnouts, and high-speed driving in the two 308's!

More silliness. Episode #3, China Doll, the bad guy's martial arts is called "Wang Chung." and in the end when Magnum is sneaking up on the guy, they play the $6 Million Man effects sound. The springy sound when Steve Austin jumps in slow motion.

But still, a lot more of the 308 than I remember. And it does not have the Robin1 plate yet.

Just a minor correction. The style of Kung Fu is call Wing Chun.

I definitely like the older episodes than the later ones. I think they ran out of ideas and just kept having higgie baby put on wigs and say it was a distant cousin. My favorite episode was probably "Did You See the Sunrise". I also like the ones with Dana Delany (babe).

I just finished watching the entire first full season dvds. I found it interesting that the Ferrari GTS only had ONE round California mirror, black leather headliner and that the black pinstripe on the side of the car stopped at the door and didn't go all the way to the tire. There were bonus episodes (3rd season) on the last disc which showed the car later as a GTSi model with square mirrors and creme headliner and also as a QV. Anyone else find anything interesting?

    Jesse,
I find it interesting that you watched it all in less than two weeks! I am on episode #4.

So, you are saying the car did not change at all the whole first season, but is different in the bonus scenes? What was it during season 2, I wonder?

I will watch the car as I go through the series a little closer, and see if I can find anything unusual or interesting. Other than that he revs it pretty high from a dead stop, so they may have gone through more than one clutch.

    Mule,

I'm still taking time off since I was overseas for 6 years. Therefore I have plenty of time on my hands to do whatever. I watched one disc every two days on my projector (6ft x 6ft), so I noticed every small detail ;-) The car was the GTS model for the first season and the bonus episode with Simon&Simon (season 3) had a GTSi and the last episode on the DVD with Sharon Stone (season 5) was a QV.
