Up to about 800 mi now, and I've noticed that it's beginning to run rough for the 1st couple minutes before clearing itself out. I know this was discussed before, but what do I do after it starts rough like this? Do I just let it idle for a time, or should I attempt to bring the revs up? It really seems to choke badly if I do that.
Also, I had some "elective cosmetic seat surgery" performed Wed on my driver's seat, and I'm happy to report that the "patient" is doing better than ever. The automotive upholstery guy cut the thigh bolster in about 1/2 lengthwise, and replaced the ultra-firm foam with foam that's less dense, and more compliant. Now I finally can get comfortable in my racing seat! It gave me that extra inch I needed. Looks exactly as it did before too.

The rough start maybe due to fact that not all cylinders fired up.

It has happened to me on one occasion and the check engine light stayed on.

I just restarted the car and it ran fine after that.

There are many threads talking about this problem. Since it has happened only once...I have not had it looked at yet...I have about 900 miles on my CS.

Unfortunately, I can't tell you much about cold start out here in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Another great pic Steve. And, I'm really glad you got the seat thing handled since I feel partially responsible for getting you into the Stradale.

mine has done the rough start thing a couple times. i just turn it off, wait a second, and it starts up fine the second time.

GORGEOUS picture in the snow! we haven't had enough snow here yet to get any decent snow pics. we got a couple inches early this week but they melted pretty quick and it hit 60 today with a rain storm going on now - so ther'es nuthin' left. presumably in january we'll get our due.

glad to hear you've got your seats "fixed". enjoy!

Honestly, I never tried that, I've always just sort'a "rode it out" until it cleared itself, which usually took a couple minutes. I will try turning it off, then restarting. These are a couple "post-op" seat shots I thought you might enjoy seeing. Man, you guys must'a missed it, we got 6 inches of theweeffing white stuff last night. Will try to get a better shot of the car, tnext time showing the all the snow in the bakckground. We had 1ft deep drifts too. Thought about taking the CS out.....that's all I did, THINK about taking the CS out! Hell, it barely made it out of the garage!

It has happened on occasion to me as well. I do what Doody suggested and it has worked every time.

    Steve,

I had the problem you mentioned a couple of times, took the car to the dealer and they checked the ECU, engine misfire, common thing, just shut the car down and start it up again, hold the start button down for a longer time that usually fixes it

when the temperature is as cold as it is now, i let the car warm up for about 10 minutes, then baby it around below 4000 rpm

I honestly wouldnt think about driving it around in Indiana if I were you with all that snow the traction on those tires on snow is terrible believe me I have experienced it first hand

Its probably "choking" like that because all of the cylinders havn't fired up yet. Some other owners have had the same problem as you, and the check engine light stayed on. You shouldn't have to worry though, just take it to the dealer if the problem persists. Probably just engine misfiring.

I was told that once you turn on the key do not hit the start button until the pre-check sequence on the dashboard stops changing.

i'm psycho-religious about this, and it still will do the misfire thing. imo, they're not related.

I'll have to wait til a while before driving it again. I'll wait an extra few secs after the checklist says OK, then I'll also hold the starter button down an extra "one thousand one" count, and see if that helps. I do know trying to feed it any gas at all only makes things worse.
