Sorry to see him leave Fchat, but anyone who wants to find Rick can visit his Youtube channel or find him on Facebook. Or you can just drive around San Diego asking pretty girls if they know the local sugar daddy with the black TR and red 355.
What a shame. Rick was a valuable member of the FChat community and his numerous contributions will be missed. I wish him success and all the best.
What a shame that another one has left I wonder why I have alwaus felt this place is not as friendly as some imagin it to be. There can be bitter hostility at times. What a shame hes done with it
Its definitely going through a bit of a nasty phase, resulting in the loss of some of our finest members. It seems that intelligent conversation is increasingly being replaced with combativeness and belligerence. Its gotten to the point where its not fun to post in many of the sections anymore. I find myself self censoring to the point of banality just to avoid the nonsense. What's the point, no matter how factually incorrect somebody is, as long as they are willing to be tenacious and aggressive, they will eventually win out in this war of attrition. It's not a coincidence that some of our valued technical experts have jumped ship...and others seldom post at all anymore. I'm hoping its a phase we will outgrow. I don't know the reason for Rick's departure, but he was incredibly helpful to me regarding my testarossa and I am very grateful for his insight.

Maybe they offered him some cash. What other reason would there be to publicly depart from here for that unpopulated crybaby's wasteland? Not sure what the benefit is to be there rather than here.
I totally agree with this part. It seems to me that some members on that site are looking for anything to bash this site and some of the FChat members (grasping at straws comes to mind), especially that guy they call wetpet...once he locks on to something, he doesn't shut up about it and nags to death about it.
Come on guys. That's ridiculous, and I take offense. Sure, there are a few disgruntled folks on FLife, but like this site, it too offers value. For every disgruntled user there, there are a dozen more who are great members and owners participating in quality discussions. Recently, the owner and the moderators have gone to great lengths to prevent the FChat bashing. I'm not sure why people here can't do the same.
Sorry to see him go like this. I would say this Dear John is unique because it is more business related from both of our perspectives. Rick came on as a sponsor in July of this year, but dropped it after only a month. Sponsorship simply doesn't make cents for many businesses. Since then by evidence of his pictures, videos, website links, and facebook links here on FerrariChat I think you can see the commercial line was being tested. Considering up until last week I didn't say much and as you know he continued with the above that is proof how forgiving I had been although sponsorship ended in July. I don't mind helping people out now and then, especially trying to get a new business going and posting good content. So cutting Rick a little slack he returns the favor by calling me Hubris on the other forum back in October? I never really got how "urge to drive" could be an actual money-making business. Youtube videos of chicks driving cars? There's more to it, right? Even with a calendar you won't get rich. A calendar is a once a year sale, tough to move after the first couple months. I've visited the other place a few times (not recently) looking for all the fabled technical information in an easy-to-access format. I really didn't find much, certainly nothing that isn't available here.
Me neither. You both have businesses to run. Play by the rules and everyone wins. It is never fun to see a high positing member leave....but Rob is right to take a stand IMHO.
I think everyone needs to remember that We are in Rob's house and should act accordingly. When we go to many restaurants even if we are willing to pay for the meal..."no shoes, no shirt mean no service." And it is "OK" if today you feel like tacos instead of pizza. One day you will want tacos again no doubt.

I usually try to say out of threads that have any level of "drama" to them, but I am 8 shots of vodka in tonight and I am letting loose on Fchat. WOOOH! YEAH!.... here we go. In rememberance to the "I'm drinking tonight, who'w with me thread": Does any one care to share how Sandy makes money with his "business"? I alway assumed this was a hobby of his he did for side cash. You can make money from you tube views but not enough to justify what he is doing (girls abusing fcars) but I doubt he is getting enough views from that. He can make money from renting the Fcars, but I doubt he is charging the girls to drive his car (as he is taping them and using the content), so where is the money at here? Above all, I see Rob's angle here and am a firm believer in pay to play. This is Rob's site (from what I understand) and if he requires you to be a vendor to promote a business on his site then so be it. If you don't like it.... leave. That may be the case right here. I always liked Sandy's vids but business is business.
LOL! I thought that maybe Rick left because people dissed his chicks. I think Rick is a nice guy who I have met in person a couple of times and his chicks are getting hotter. However, It sure sounds like Rob is right this time. The solution is easy. If Rob wants you to take your shoes off before coming in "his" house, you respect him, and take your shoes off or you stand outside. I really don't see any reason why another Fchat drama thread has to even start. Eric I respect you too but I don't know why you would even stir the pot starting this thread. I mean that in a nice way. I'm not intending to bash you. It's just no good could come of posting it. And for those who don't know it I have also spend time with Eric in person too great guy and I have nothing against him. I'll go be quiet now.
It's a shame he didn't want to stick around, this really is a great community and he fit in well here. And I also agree with Rob. At the end of the day, he helped Rick as much as he could and we all have to remember that Rob is running a business here. Goodbye Rick and good luck.
I posted as an announcement to those guys that like his work and might be wondering why it ceased and/or that new pieces would be available elsewhere; I've re-read my OP and although I could have worded it a little more diplomatically it wasn't my intention to "stir the pot." In my second sentence I mentioned I didn't want to get into comments (the politics) of his decision to leave, probably naive of me to think the thread wouldn't go that way. I totally agree it's Rob's house/business, his rules.
I don't have anything against him personally. I just never understood the business. Oh...and don't take my opinion too seriously. Based on my life experiences my idea of a hot girl is immensely skewed! I have ridiculously high standards!
+1 Although I have never met Rick, I just remember sometimes he would fly off the handle rather quickly. Maybe he just had a short fuse?
