Call me boring, but I used the brushed aluminum one from the 512TR in mine.

    Cheers,

HERE'S A BIG TIP FOR YOU WHEN LOOKING FOR AN AFTERMARKET GEAR KNOB. DON'T BUY A CHROMED ONE BECAUSE THE CROME PLATING PEELS OFF AFTER A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF USE. STICK WITH A POLISHED FINISH WHICH BASICALLY LASTS FOREVER AND STAYS LOOKING GREAT.

The best one I ever saw came with my ex 348 , I believe it was made by a company called titanium cavallino , I really wish I would have swapped it out with a factory one before selling the car

Hey guys thanks for the great feedback! Does the metal knobs burn your hand after sitting in the sun for awhile?

Simple solution - keep a wash-cloth in the car for other needs anyway, and just drape it over the knob when parked.

I used to keep my "lucky sock" on the polished aluminum knob for my 308. The skin oils used to tarnish it.

The anodized knob on the TR doesn't require it.
I've never had a problem with heat.

If the inside of your car is getting that hot you've got bigger problems. I've never even noticed the knob getting warm after being in the sun.

I had the other problem with a metal shift knob when living in CO -- too cold at morning start-up and stays that way for quite a while (like walking barefoot on a cold bathroom ceramic floor). I agree that the metal knobs look great, but I went back to a thermally non-conductive shift knob.
