This week I was offerred an original softtop for a 355 GTS, the one Ricambi announced to reproduce.

Does anyone know if this will fit my '91 348 TS?

Could you ellaborate further on the Ricambi soft top? I had some time back seen such a top in a book on the Ferrari 348 but had never known if such a top was ever eventually produced. I would be very keen myself to get one for my 348 if it is to be produced again.

It's a factory option of about 3k euro. They don't suply them anymore (I wouldn't be interested for that amount). Ricambi announced here that they are going to reproduce them and that we had to wait till july. I think that's a great idea (I don't fit in my car when the hardtop is behind the seats), hope they keep it affordable. I sent them an e-mail this week but they didn't respond yet. I did a quick search but couln't fint the topic. Maybe they can tell us more.

It is true... we're working with Hill Engineering to reproduce it. We have disassembled an original, found the "correct" fabric supplier, and begun the reengineering of latches, rails, gaskets, etc.

Time table has slipped a bit, as one of the subs on the job did some unexpected things.

    Daniel,

Have you got a rough estimate on the price tag yet?

Daniel, please do keep us updated. I will be a confirmed buyer of this (will it be sold by Hill Eingineering or yourselves in the end- or both of you?)

Yes it will. The 348 and 355 share the same basic body.

ive got one the original foldable soft tops, its great, i generally keep it folded in the trunk, then if the weather turns i can get it out and put it on, when you store the hard top behind the seats you have to keep the seats just a little to far forword to be comfortable

Actually.... the latches are quite different between the two cars. At almost $1000/per latch, it's not exactly "plug & play"

    Thanks for the correction.

But, $1000 per latch, fricken-a man that is just crazy! Can't those be sourced?

Say.....you know what Dan. Are you going to offer the folding tops in body colored fabric? Many of us have painted the nasty black tops to match the rest of the car. Sooooo, I think it would be kinda cool to have a foldable top that was the same color as the rest of the car.

Was this soft top project ever brought to completion ?
Could not find anything on the Hill Engineering or Ricambi websites.
I am looking for a practical solution when I park the car, so that I don't have to take the roof out and can leave it at home.

This top was meant for driving. For an inexpensive parking solution contact fchatter "hank sound".

I have one for my F355GTS. Yes, I heard they were identical, except for the latches, and possibly the locating pins are also somewhat different? It also came in a custom vinyl zipper bag.
