I picked up a brand new Stebro exhaust system for my Mondial T last week. I actually bought it from a gent who purchased it, but never installed the system. He ended up selling his Mondial T, so he had no use for the Stebro.

Anyhow. I wanted to report that the system looks to be of top quality. The welds are excellent, and the material is first rate. I had a Borla on the car but wanted to try this Stebro with hopes of a new exciting exhaust note. Additionally, the Stebro has a great set of quad tips (my Borla is twin oval exits), so it was a slightly different look as well.

The Stebro seems to be a tad bit more hefty than the Borla. The Stebro has a much larger muffler section, so I am sure that contributes.

After the install I fired up the big 3.4 liter and had my Son rev the throttle a few times. I was pleasently greeted with a nice euro sound out of those quad tips (no inserts). We pulled the car down off the stands and took it for a quick spin. It sounds very Italian from the cabin. I will get a few more impressions after I can have a pal drive it by for me to hear.

So far, by what I can tell, it seems that teh Stebro may be our kind of product. I will run some performance tests once the cold snap is over to confirm.

Great post! Thanks for the info... In my limited experience, I've read mixed reviews about Stebro. Glad to hear a good one in their column, as they are a company I would consider for my car.

Please do update us with your impressions when the weather improves!

If you can shoot some video at some point, that would be great!

I put Stebro on my 308 and I was warned about corrosion. After talking to the gentleman at Stebro and he told me what grade stianless was used (I do not remember the exact grade) but when I looked it up I found that it was not the most corrosion resistant stainless. So I sent mine down to jet-hot for ceramic coating. here are before and after photos. But if you don't do this you might want to consider paint.

The Stainless should be at least 304 grade to be good quality for automotive use.
