The car was for sale in Beverly Hills, and the nice folks at Ferrari Silicon Valley brought it up northfor me and did a little work on it. The car was on the cover of Forza magazine in August 2005. I'm not sure if the previous owner was part of this forum or not. I drove it 3 hours back home with my 2 year old son. We had a blast!

I plan on using the car mainly for track events and taking my wife our every so often. A few Q's:

    1) Are there any other CS's here with in Argento (sp?) silver w/ Stripe?

    2) Trying to get a 4 or 5 point harnsess installed. Looks like I have to get a bar fabricated. Would any CS owners with harnesses mind sharing their story?

    3) Looking for a light open aluminum trailer w/ air dam to haul it around. Any favorite dealers/sources in nor cal?

    4) Any CS drivers with the exhaust bypass pinched off ever run club events at Laguna? I can't imagine that the sound would be within club decible limits between turns 5 and 6! (But I do love it!)

I Look forward to swapping track stories and joining you all in Nor Cal at events. I just have to learn to drive the CS properly on track (former track car/daily is an Audi S4 Quattro... way too easy! :)

    Thanks!

WELCOME to the board! congrats on the CS - it's a really special car.

search the archives on this one. some folks have done it, but NA cars apparently don't have the mount points in the frame that the Euro cars do. so if you want to do it right you have to muck with the frame. that said, i'm pretty sure some folks have done it "not quite right" but acceptably.

Color looks great with the stripe!!!! Congrats, welcome and enjoy!

No idea on any of the other questions, my Ferraris are carbed, NON CAT.......way back there, technology wise.

There will be some CS owners along soon, the NorCal bunch are real active on here and great to cruise with in person, we blew thru last year with our new old car!!!!

You have your own Regional Section down the page here.........see it?

Congrats -- welcome and enjoy the new car.

It will handle quite a bit differently than the Audi S4 -- watch out for the off-throttle snap oversteer in the corners. :)

Yeah, I experienced that snap when leaving the dealer! You can almost pull the eBrake leaving the corner in the Audi and be ok. I'm looking forward to learning how to drive it for sure!

Congratulations! Nice color choice. A friend of mine has the same color combo Argento w/ stripe but his interior is black. Anyway, what part of Norcal are you in? The Bay Area? If so, you should join us on some of the drives that we do occasionally. Let me know if you're interested.

And btw, there are several CS's here in Norcal and a lot of them are Fchatters!

Don't mean to be rude, but just curious; weren't the people at FOBH asking like $199k for that car with 6k+ miles? That was exorbitant I felt. I hope you got a better deal than that.

I have no idea what he paid for his car but $199,000 is not out of line. The CS is a very limited production car (about 650 in North America) that is equipped with many important performance enhancements. Its performance is close to a 430 (assuming the 430 has appropriate tires) and a similarly equipped 430 would run over $200,000.

It is a special car which will remain so for a very long time.:)

Congratulations on the CS! It will always be fun to have the “Forza cover car.”

I really liked my Featherlite aluminum trailer with an air dam. There is a big Featherlite dealer just south of Grass Valley, CA on highway 49.

    http://www.fthr.com

It can make a big difference if you are towing with an SUV and not a real truck. That said, the grade into Laguna breaks real trucks too! May I also recommend the Northern California Shelby Club and Green Flag for open track events.

    http://www.norcal-saac.org/

    http://www.greenflagdriving.com/

Both are VERY well run groups that welcome Ferrari participation. The Shelby club actually invites Ferrari to its one “Ford only” event and the Ferrari club invites the Shelby club to the Virginia City Hill Climb.

Have fun with the new car!!!

a special car, yes, but certainly not "limtied production" and such a connotation does not imply value. look at the 550 barchetta as a prime example.

Thanks for the info on the clubs and trailers. Do you still do any track events in NorCal? The Grass Valley featherlite guys were great to talk to.

The grade up Laguna Seca is rouhg... during MotoGP traffic was brutal. Lot's of high powered bikes inching up the grade...brutal

Now that I live 1000 miles away, I'll fly up when offered a ride. I have a old friend in Medford, OR that runs with the Shelby club and he'll occasionally offer a me seat in one of his cars.........OK, he's an great friend, not just an old friend!
