What ever happened to that pretty 250 GTO replica at Exotic car Wholesalers in Ft Laud.
Could this be it? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4589098810&fromMakeTrack=true
I am comparing. What am I missing except the $250,000 more for the "real" thing? This is one of the best 288s I have seen out there. I am curious about the VIN though. LC would be a Mondial Convertible, UA would be a 308GTS. LA should be a 308????? Also some confusion how the 288 came about when the question was for the 250
The interior of the Ebay car is not for me, but the exterior and engine work look great in my opinion. BT
Actually, i did a search for 288 GTO replica, and this thread came up so I am the culprit who mixed them in here...sorry for the confusion. I am just amazed that nobody seems to know anything about this 288 replica. How does a company just 'one off' something like this anonymously?
This 288 GTO replica is not a one off. If this is the one on Ebay, it is a Jim Carpenter car, and he is still building them out of his new shop in Oregon along with P-4's. He offered me his latest GTO replica this past May. His original shop in Phoenix is now owned by Butch Hooper, who is still allowed by Ferrari to sell the GTO conversion parts only. Apparently Ferrari filed legal papers against Carpenter, Butch unknowingly opened the doors for his newly acquired business only to find a Ferrari attorney waiting. Butch then sold me the molds for the 288 GTO Evoluzione conversion, but I had to sign an agreement not to sell them as Ferrari parts. There is also a guy in southern California that is doing these GTO conversions, I heard he is using Carpenter molds. Possibly Berliner is still doing these conversions, maybe even Norwood. So what ever happened to the 250 GTO that started this thread??
Sold to a gentleman in Australia. That particular GTO was a Favre and was pretty darn nice for what it was.
