I'm replacing a missing rubber "bumper" that sits right below the "Unleaded Fuel Only" decal on the driver's side, rear quarter window. It's a GTS model, '87. I think I have the right part, just need to see which way it faces when installed.

If you have second and could snap a photo that would help me a lot.

    Thanks! I really appreciate it.

Thanks - wow, looks like you have the same hole that I do. I think there's supposed to be a rubber piece there. Let's see if anyone else comes up with a photo showing any different...

No----that is a overflow drain for the fuel. I found out the first time I filled the car too fast. The fuel backed up, overflowed and went right into that hole and drained under the car. I am pretty sure it is supposed to be like that. If it is not---well it worked perfect for me when I filled fuel too fast...

The overflow drain is next to the filler, not out there by the window. Jon is right, there is supposed to be a rubber bumper there. Sorry I don't have a GTS anymore and can't provide a pic. GTB's only have a small door over the filler itself.

It's part #60551400 Gommino battuta griglia (rubber bumper pad). You need two of them if the one on the right side is missing too.

YES - that's it. I got one, they're $5 or so. (No horsey on it, otherwise it would have been $150...)

WOW!, You learn something new every day. I was thinking it was a hole strategicaly place to drain water when you was the car.

Well, that's three of us missing it. I think it's just an easy piece to knock off the car during a detailing job, and it probably gets brittle with age.

It took some doing to install the new one because the rubber flange is very tight. Pushing down on the center of it with a flathead screwdriver seems to have done the trick, though.
