Keep in mind Mr Out Loud Thinker, further South typically means higher heat and higher humidity. Ferrari A/C units are not known for producing large quantities of cold air. Ferrari cooling systems that run through the cab are very well known for producing large amounts of 'opposite cold'.

Hah. There's a reason I took out the driver's side mat before I let Robert_C borrow my car. :)

I think the Texas crowd should plan to meet him 100 miles out and all come in as a group as a show of welcome and support.

I did almost the same route when I drove my 996TT from Philly to Houston last August. Did Philly to Nashville on Day 1 (12 hrs), and Nashville to Houston the second day (14 hrs), driving alone....and the cruise control wasn't working so I know how you'll feel.

The roads suck until you hit Tenn....smooth as freakin glass there.....then they suck again in Ark.

I don't have HBO either, I was at a friend's house, but they promised to TIVO the show for me if it comes on again.

I was actually bragging on you, telling them that I had a friend who was a surgeon in Iraq, when lo and behold, your name scrolled by!

I think you got a point there... Everytime I've been thru Hotlanta, the AC of whatever car I'm driving struggles to keep its' cool. On the other hand, I want to meet judge4re and as many FChatters as possible.

Guys, PM either Dave or myself contact info and where you'll be so we can plan the pit strategy, please.

    Manny,

I go to DC all the time. Whatever you do don’t drive through DC at rush hour. It will take you 2 to 3 hours to get through it. I would recommend driving past DC at night or during work hours and sleep somewhere south of DC that night. Maybe Manassas or Richmond. If you want to stay in DC let me know I have some hotels and restaurants I would recommend. Call me if you like.

    We've got a Carbon Date :)

Looks like we are going to take the southerly route after all, and hook up with the infamous Carbon McCoy in Atlanta on Saturday night!

    Tentative Schedule:

Friday Morning: Seller delivers car, paperwork, etc, we drop the seller back off at his house.
    Friday Noon: Leave Bayonne, NJ
Friday 2pm:Meet the NJ/PA crew at Algar Ferrari in PA
Friday 5pm: Visit Manny's uncle in Wilmington, DE
Friday Night: Drive till we're tired, probably sleep somewhere in/around Richmond, VA
Saturday: Drive Highway 85 from Richmond to Atlanta
Saturday Night: Paint the town rosso corsa with Carbon McCoy
Sunday: Nurse hangover and take I-20 west from Atlanta to Shreveport
Sunday Night: Crash at Dave's sister's house in Shreveport
Monday Morning: I-20 west from Shreveport to Dallas/Fort Worth.
