Has any FChatter used this program yet? It looks like a great deal. Ferrari will restore your "classic" Ferrari for $70.00 an hour + parts using new production replacement parts made by Ferrari or by the original vender. If the needed parts are not available, Ferrari will either make them or have them made. The service will be available at select dealers as well as at the factory. The car will be restored to a classic standard, not to an overrestored American type status per Ferrari. There is an article about the program in the recent issue of Cavallino, # 154.

I have been in communication with Shannon at FNA. I sent the pictures she requested and at last contact, she forwarded them to the factory but since they are closed in Aug, I suspect I will hear something next month

The factory is closed in August? Any particular reason why (my guess is to honor Enzo as he passed away that month)?

Yes, my local Ferrari dealer has just completed the inspection and sent the paperwork and photographs off to Italy. I was told not to expect an answer back until late September or October, because August is the holiday season. My dealer tells me my car is original! But I will wait to get the final seal of approval. Under the program you pay for the inspection and pay Ferrari SPA $3,000 for them to look at and certify the results. I entered the program, because I won an auction for the USO in which Ferrari of America was donating a certification to the auction. My car is a 308 QV, and it would probably not be worth it to spend the money unless the car is worth considerably more. I think the idea is great, especially for some of the older, classic cars. Pricing on the program also differentiates between cars 20 - 25 years old and those that are older. The older cars are more expensive to certify.
