Road Rage kills 911 driver in San Diego

http://www.nbcsandiego.com/news/9991405/detail.html

I can't stand slow drivers either, but try not to hit them when you cut around them.... RIP to the driver.

"Soldau said that when he took his foot off the gas, the Porsche drove up parallel to him and rammed into him, sending his Jetta into a spin."

Yea, right? Who in their right mind would deliberately ram a guy like that especially when you're driving a nice car? There's more to this story that's for sure.

More than likely the Porsche driver feinted at the Jetta expecting that stubborn son of b*tch to flinch and move. He didn't, the cars connect and the Porsche starts its spin which the driver was completely unprepared for having never so much as even put the car in a slide. Hits and climbs the wall and over he goes. Done deal.

Yeah...I think they're way more to this story than what this guy said. However, a man did die, so RIP and my prayers to his family.

Soldau said he was being tailgated, then Saldau took his foot off the gas pedal, would'nt that piss you off, which I think what happen to the porche driver, he got pissed, drove around Soldau to get infront of him and by doing so, (being the porche driver is PO by this time) in anger he manage to cliped Soldau and causes the porche to lose control. This is just what I think happened.

you know what I dont get is why cant people just move out of the way, why be an arse and slow down making the situation worse, so they guys speeding being an idiot just get out of the way. How does that give anyone the right to be an Ahole and take the law into their own hands to "show him." If I see someone coming up on me faster than I am going I get out of the fricken way, yeah sometimes I think to myself "what an idiot" but better to get out of the way and not get into a wreck and forget about it then let it get to me, piss me off and ruin my day, just not worth it. On the same note, when I am in the fast lane doing 70 or so and I come up on someone who is doing 65 and not only refuses to move out of the way but slows down just because they think I shouldnt be going that fast it pisses me off and I wish they would never be allowed to drive.

all that said I too believe there is more to the story and more than likely, IMO, the dumbass in the jetta reacted badly to the porsche passing him and caused the accident, Ive had incidents like that almost happen, someone slows down so I go around to pass and they speed back up to not let me over almost causing an accident.

Yes, the fact that the Jetta guy slowed intentionally indicates that he probably did something else to further aggravate the situation. The P guy is dead so he can't speak, unless there were witnesses.

Do u have a name? I think u should get the "Most Posts" Award!!! Over 4,000 ... holy crap.

I'm w/u. I've been with alot of aggressive Porsche drivers but I've never met one that wasn't a really good and serious driver. That is usually why they are attracted to the cars in the first place. They r a little dif than say a guy who buys a Ferrari just to get ass. hahahhaahahaaa ... j/k guys.

Even when they take chances they are usually always in control of the situation.

Just my pov.

Thats funny about the getting ass part. I went from a Fiat (no play) to the Ferrari and now I find Women are intimidated by the car. Either that or I need to find a better deoderant. JJ

Seems to me like the Jetta driver provoked and probably caused the accident. If he was being tailgated, why in the world would he let of the gas?

I don't know either party involved and I'm shocked and sorry for the death but why would you presume this to be true?

A-holes come in all shapes and sizes and the fact that the guy was driving a Porsche doesn't preclude him from being an a-hole.

This is a shame and it could have been prevented but with respect, I submit that assuming one driver bears any less or any more responsibility than another simply because he drives a nice car isn't reasonable.

You're assuming that the Jetta driver had the opportunity to move over.

And, most defensive driving schools and driver's education classes teach you that the safest thing to do when someone is tailgating you is to move out of their way. If that's not safe or possible, the next thing you should do is slow down so that you minimize the severity of the crash if the driver behind you does hit you.

Again, this event is tragic and I feel for the P driver's family. But in my opinion, you guys are being to quick to pounce on the Jetta driver without knowing all the facts based simply on the fact that he was in a lowly VW and not a P car.

The article I read said that "The California Highway Patrol and witnesses said a man driving a Porsche that flipped off the freeway seemed impatient prior to the fatal Mission Valley crash".

I was cut off by a guy a few months ago, moved up next to him and he Rammed me just as this guy did. Now, he was only driving a cavalier; but there are people out there that are crazy enough to do it and I think when you are that crazy, the kind of car you drive doesn't matter.

In the San Diego incident the guy rams the Jetta because he let his foot off the gas???? Does that sound logical to you or anyone else? There is more to this story that's all and I can state that with 100% accuracy.
