    Hi to all,
I have an issue on my GranTurismo, basically, not only does my raadio/satnav unit keep freezing, switching off, and sometimes not even going past the first 'Maserati' white backed screen, it will not load and store any music to my jukebox. Please advise me if anybody else has this issue on their car and I can do some kind of reset without having to take the car to the dealer as this process often means loosing the car for atleast a week.

I've had issues with the audio system as well, however, not nearly as bad as you're describing. Sometimes when I start the car it will "freeze" at the white Maserati screen. Seems to go away if I turn the radio on/off or eject a CD (if I have a CD loaded). In terms of music storage, what format is your music in? From what I remember, the system stores MP3 tracks or CD-Audio (and converts it to MP3). If you're burning AAC tracks (iTunes MP4) I'm not sure if it will work.....please do give us an update once you've sorted things out!

Boy I wish that were the only problem that I have had with my Granturismo. All was well for 2400km and 6 weeks, then over the last week it seems to have had an electronic melt down.
The first sign of problems was the rear tail lights staying on permanently, even after the car is turned off and locked. Then the gearbox programing lost the plot. Using the shift paddles all is well; but in "drive" it will hold on to a gear randomly all the way to red line/engine cutout. This in "normal" mode, not "sport". Then it will all go back to functioning normally for a period until it reverts back to "crazy" mode.
Then the ASR anti skid and active suspension stops working with an annoying warning light on the dash. Then the left indicator stops self cancelling, which is annoying as the dash arrow isn't particularly obvious and the turn signal can remain on until you eventually notice it.
Then there is the service department at the dealer who are useless. I wanted to get an oil change at 2500 km's as 20,000km's is too long to first service. I wanted to get an independent specialist to do this and mount the number plates correctly. The dealer managed to mount the plates "off centre" at the front and now I have visible holes in the front where it was incorrectly mounted. My independent rang the dealer for a filter and they told him that he wasn't "allowed" to work on the car or the warranty would be voided (for an oil change!). This is incorrect by local law BTW, and is just plain bullying on the part of the dealer.
Then there are the sill panels that have more waves than the Pacific ocean. Still waiting for an answer on that, plus an enquiry about retro fitting front parking sensors. I have only asked 2 different people at least 4 times for a response.

I came from a long history of German daily drivers. They may be boring; but they are efficient and reliable and the dealer service/warranty is fantastic. If you are considering a Granturismo, I would wait and see how the reliability stacks up for owners over the next 6 months. I suspect the build quality and reliability isn't the quantum leap forward that was expected when the car was released.

That usually happens when it's the first model year. I had a first model 2003 E500 Benz and I had WAY more problems in the first year of ownership than my 2007 Quattroporte. I've had the QP for almost a year and only took it in once because the freon was low. (knock on wood)

It is CD/MP3 I was trying to store, for the first week it worked fine, infact I was thinking it is one of the best factory (albeit optional extra) soundsystem I have come across. Untill the issues, for now, they seem to have dissapeared, but if they return I will have to book it in to the dealer, problem is this is my girlfriends car, and with her just giving birth to our first child, she needs it constantly.

Time will tell, many thanks for your help so far.
