I just got my first quote on insurance for a CS. Came in at $2400 per year.

That's for a third car, to be driven less than the 3,000.

Coverage is $500 deductables for comp and collision and $500k liability.

    Is this competitive?

Anyone have an special/different coverage on their Ferrari vs. their other cars?

What are fellow F-chatters annual insurance costs?

Do a search. This question is asked often. I pay a lot also but I have a teenage daughter at home and an at fault 3-4 car accident on our record now. I pay slightly more than your qoute with a $1000 deductible.

It depends on lots of factors. Call every place you can.

I paid around $1,200 per year on my CS. Insurance depends on many factors. I have a good driving record, multi policy discount, drive under 5,000 miles per year as a third car, etc. Location will also come into play.

Btw, I currently pay $1,350 per year on my Scud.

we can't possibly know, since we don't know the particulars of your situation. the best way to find out is to get another quote ...

I pay $900/yr on my 430, with $300k liability (the minimum req'd by my umbrella coverage) and $1000 deductible. I tried once to get Hagerty insurance but they were way expensive. I pay a lot more on my daily driver, I guess that's due to the miles and the fact that it's a new car also.

location, age, sex, driving history, storage location, multiple-line discounts...too many variables to make it apples-to-apples with anybody.

Without knowing anything about the OP's personal situation it is impossible to say whether it is a good deal or not.

Major metro area, male, under 35, couple of tickets in the last 3 years, no home or umbrella policy as well with the same company...the insuree should be prepared to pay through the nose.

Makes sense. I'm over 40, no points on the license, multi car, multi policy discount, yada yada yada.

At $2400 per year, I'm starting to sense that I need to shop around..which was the whole point of the post. Thanks to those that posted!

I just called Geico to see how much it'd cost to add a 05/06 F430 with an estimated purchase price of $130k paid for with cash. I'd be my 3rd car (04 G35 coupe and 996 turbo), 4k annual mileage estimated, full coverages otherwise but with a $1k deductible; I'm 26, no accidents or insurance claims ever, 1 minor speeding ticket (75 in 65 I think) in the past 2 years on my record. I also have Geico for a minimal renter's insurance policy. I pay about $1075 annual for my two existing cars, and adding the F430 to the policy would bring the annual total to $1703.06, or an increase of only $628.06 annual. Not bad at all!

Geico said that a F430 (all ferrari's) have to be a custom quote, and are not on thier standard list. Some models are prohibted from being insured with them, but the F430 is not prohibited. They told me that underwriting said they could add the F430 to my policy, but that they can't guarantee I can keep it insured with Geico given its high value (the point being they'd insure it if I bought it but may eventually make me find coverage elseware). He said that when I get it covered, they'll do a more indepth review and see if they can keep it (ie look at if I've ever filed a claim, accident history, current worth of car, ect). I reiterated to him politely that I already use them to insure my 911 and Infiniti, as well as for renters insurance, and that since I want all my insurance products at a single provider, if they refused to cover the Ferrari, I'd have to switch all my coverages with Geico to another company. This alone seemed to make it sound like I'd be able to keep the F430 on the policy ;). I'm not planning on potentially buying until May/June anyway, so the value may be slightly less by then, and soon enough, it'll be under $100k anyway.

$1000 per year on a 1994 512tr and $500 per year on a 1990 ZR1 corvette with Hagerty collector car insurance. These guys are at least 50% less expensive than anyone else I could find. No driving it to work and limited to 5000 miles per year each car. They will even flat bed it 3 times per year first 10 miles free.

They use VIN so you get the correct coverage for the car you own.

They should do the underwriting and give you a firm quote. I had my insurance, Manufacturers in NJ, tell me they needed to talk to the underwriters because my car was outside of their normal guidelines. They were particularly surprised when I said list price was xxxK and I paid xxxK+ $10,000, for a six year old car. "That's impossible," they said. "Welcome to the world of Ferrari," I said, "If you want to insure my car".

They gave me a reasonable quote, quite reasonable - but who knows if they would pay loss of value if I was in a wreck. I mean an F car in a major wreck no longer demands a premium even if it is repaired at a qualified shop.

Still, this "we'll insure you for a few weeks and think it over" is bull. Call other places. It is a competitive market. Anything under $100 mil requiring Lloyds of London is small peanuts to insurance companies and easy to underwrite. I got insurance policies on Boeing 747 Advanced (for airline clients) with out the "we'll think about it" bull.

In a recent review of alternatives to Farmers, received a quote from Wawanesa for $840.00 per year for a 97 355 Spider and a 01 360 Spider@ 3000 miles per vehicle per year . SO far the best quote.

I would recommend that you shop around OP. While you’re getting car insurance quotes, get one from The Hartford as well. Their service is the best!
