I've seen this car in person. Talked with the previous owner who had the accident. Driven the car, and inspected it. For all intents and purposes, its perfect. There were a couple of slits in the floorpan, that probably took about 3 hours to fix and paint..... while taking a 45 minute espresso break. It has since had a major, and I believe a clutch. At $95K, buy it, keep it and enjoy it. In 15 years, when another hundred of these cars have managed to wrap themselves around various immovable objects, that title will mean zip, provided it has been cared for. I would believe that every 250GTO and most SWB's would have 'salvage' titles, if possible...... But guess what? It doesn't matter anymore. They are collector pieces, which is what the CS will become. When I was on the car he was 'firm' at $110K. I figured that $85-$90K was a real number. However, if I wanted a red car, I would have paid the ask.
I never stated that this car is making the CS market, I stated the market is speaking and won't support the $95k asking of this particular car.
If the damage assesment, that was described, is trully the only damage this car sustained it should be worth 95 - 100k in my humble opinon. Is the salvage title really the market maker for this car? I believe if it were financable it would have sold long ago. Of course this is only my biased thought. I guess it could just be I hate seeing one sell for under the six igure number? Enjoy the Super Bowl all.
I think its worth $92,259.69 IMHO ;-) Obviously joking. There is no "exact" price or even a range that any of us can say is for certain the market on this car. Its a "one off" salvage title that is clearly a lot of work to sell (at least at anywhere near what the seller wants). I think given the seller's new asking price and the speculations herein, its worth south of $100k. How much south? Who the hell knows! It seems like the would-be buyers and the seller are doing the inevitable market dance towards each other...so a sale should happen here shortly somewhere between the bid and the ask...markets are so predictable ;-) A CS for $90k's that is in the condition that Ingenere described (and I trust his assessment) albeit with a salvage title would be a nice addition to anyones garage....just dont' plan on ever selling it quickly (and please remember to check your ability to finance, register/license and insure it!)
Interesting, I was thinking about listing mine soon for 125k. Didn't realize the difference between a salvage car and clean one was only 15 - 25k.
Depends upon mileage, condition and options. And, that salavage title will sell in the 90s most likely...perhaps lower 90s. I would think any decent comparable mileage, non-salvage CS would sell nearer 130...so that is nearly 40k diff or ~40% uplift from salvage to clean title. Which, IMHO, is likely pretty close. If you are going to throw out there the 125k listing price for yours, please tell us about mileage, condition, service history, options, color, etc so we can fairly compare what you seem to be doing in your head...
Mine is red with stripe, black challenge wheels, all black alcantera interior. New clutch, approx 25k miles. Its a great drivers car.
Sounds great. Factory stripe? Obviously the 25k miles has its impact. Mine has 15k and I believe 2k per year is the min range of acceptable on modern ferrari's (any less becomes an issue IMHO). But, I realize I'm in the minority on that account! So many folks want "garage art" CS's...maddening...I buy art and sculpture when I want art. I buy cars to drive and enjoy the thrill of driving. The "thrill of ownership" doesn't move me...but I know I'm in the minority on that...
yes factory stripe of course. I don't care for stickers. And frankly I don't see the difference between 2k or 3k miles per year, but hey I'm a driver. Thats 8 more week of fun in my book.
I agree. 2-3k sounds okay to me. Heck that is only 20-30k over 10 years. 40-60k at age 20. And these things are slavishly maintained with new fluids and filters every 12 months by most owners. But, you and I are the proverbial preachers and choir! Some buyers want 500-800 miles per year on their used ferrari's. That is so odd to me..but I'm sure makes sense to them ;-)
My CS was parked yesterday while in a store. When I came out a 430 spider was parked next to it. Made me think...... I've been kicking around getting a Scud but I swear I can't find a Ferrari I think looks better than a CS. I love my CS. I just don't like 430s as much.
With regards to mileage its important to look at services (as I'm sure you know). One may think a 20k car is better than a 25k car. But the 20k may need clutch, belts, brakes, and the other does not. Not trying to promote my car over another, just saying to folks that may be looking for the first time to not get too hung up only on miles, especially around the 8 year/15k to 20k mark. There are some expensive services needed about that time. You're going on a second belt change, probably a clutch and possibly brakes (if the car was tracked much, mine was not but many have been). So be careful about mileage hangups and look for services.
Absolutely. I mean, the primary reason folks "care" about mileage is that it infers that wearable bits are, well, worn! So, selling a higher mileage car with all new wearable bits like clutch, belts, fluids, filters, tires and brake pads certainly makes it "newer" in a very real sense of the word!
No I haven't. I don't doubt it's a screamer. I'd kill for one of those white scuds. I'm on the fence. My plan is to add a 612 but.......
All you have to do is watch one of Rad's videos, done deal. I will get to drive one at Exotic's racing before mine shows up near month end. Will also head to Seattle on Tuesday and check out FOS's Cali with the forged wheels. First car I have seen them on.

What a shame for this beautiful CS! looks like the rear right wheel has also some issue, or it's just me?
