I'm looking for recommendations on how to sell a classic car. I tried a round of craigslist and ebay, but I know that's not the way to go. Hemmings, AutotraderClassic, start my own website, blog about it...any and all recommendations would be greatly appreciated!!!

What's your greatest success in selling?

    Yeah, depends what it is.
"Bring a trailer" has a lot of traffic if it is the right type of car.

Sorry, I should have put in more detail. It's an Austin Healey 100-4. Great driver and very clean. Not a show car, but something that turns a lot of heads when you're driving down the interstate. I'd say it a 2.5/5. No rust, yadda, yadda.

I'd start out with Hemmings. I've sold a couple classics there.

For the OP - SOME idea as to where you are located might help in the process...

Craigslist works GREAT in some areas. Ebay can be good too! F-Chat classifieds are probably pretty stellar as well.

What a fantastic carriage, I have drooled over the 100's and the 3000's since the '80s. Hemmings and the AH Club would also be my suggestion, good luck. Do you think you could share some pics with us, pretty please???

I sold my 57 Chevy through "advertising" on eBay.

I started the auction with a reserve I was comfortable with and a fairly high BIN price, and I had a good number of offers to deal OUTSIDE of ebay.

I sold to the guy that put up the $$ first....which turned out to be $2k over my reserve.

He flew out from Cali to inspect, wired funds next day, truck arrived a week later to pic it up.

I have also bought several vehicles this way....Ebay is a pretty cheap way to get nationwide advertising with really good pictures.
