They may sell out of these things. Funny to think about how many of these actually sell on a daily basis. Then all of a sudden they get orders for 40 of them--They are probably scratching there heads at RockAuto wondering how so many Ford Focus struts are going bad at once!!:D

Are the trunk lid struts and engine lid struts the same on a 355?

These are a great deal. Surprised I didn't get an e-mail from Rock auto since I get parts from them.

I got some for my TR from Rock Auto that were DOA. They would not hold the hood up. I didn't install them until a couple of months after they arrived so they told me I was SOL. Glad to see these have a fairly current mfg. date.

Looking deeper into the past posts it looks like it will fit either. I looked at Rock Auto but the price comes up as $26.00 each are you looking under the Ford section to get the Focus part number to get that price of $9.83 or has teh special expired. Don't get me wrong the $26 price is much better than the dealership but heck I like saving more than spending!

Go to the tech section. Robbie posted a link and they are the $9.83. I ordered with the link 2 and it was total w/shipping $26.00 and change.

By the way Robbie, I think I am going send you a christmas gift because you have pointed me to several deals in just the past 8 months that have saved me a ton and worked great. Anyway thanks a million for being one of the members here who consistently helps others!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Found it, thanks guys. I don't know if it will fit the 348 but I will give it a cautious try. The factory length calls for a 10.91" extended and a compress 6.9" length which is slightly different. I guess I be the test to see if this truely fits a 348.

They will fit. The 348 and 355 use the same exact lift supports. The minor differences in length are of no consequence and are being used successfully on several members cars, including mine.

I have had mine for 20 months now. When new, the engine lid would rise on it's own immediatly upon opening. After about 10 months of use, it no longer did that when in a cold garage, but will stay up once opened manually. When the engine is warm, they still rise all by themselves. The oem struts seem to poop out and not stay up for the engine lid after 24 to 28 months, they seem to last two or three times that on the front trunk. I will keep mine in use on the engine until they no longer stay up and report back.... ;)
