NSW FERRARI CONCOURS at DARLING HARBOUR

hi Guys
I'm sure most of you who are Ferrari owners or members have recieved some info on the next concours. If not here is a bit of blurb, It will be held on 13th August 2006 at Darling Harbour convention centre. The event is being underwritten by Italia Motori the NSW Ferrari / Maserati dealer. The club is looking to get in excess of 100 cars all models. It will be a fund raiser to help the children at Westmead Hospital. So guys heres a great event to help some needy kids, time to get the polish out and support this great cause. The cars will cordened off and security will be employed over the Saturday night. The doors open on Sunday and price will be $12.00 adults free for kids under 16. All the contact details will be in Horsepower or Horses mouth mag. Would be great if all Ferrari owners give this event there full support and would be great to see some of those rare gems that never leave there stables making an appearance.

Should be a great event. I notice the date clashes with the QLD FCA Display Day/Concours event though.

Andrew,

Not sure who is organising this, but do you leave the car on Sat, with the key, or do we drive it in, park it, take the key, and then come back on Sunday to pick it up?

I am fine with it, if I park it, and take the key with me. Oh and my insurance covers it (need to check)

I think it would be cool if I can drive my car into the convention center
yeah I know, small things amuse......

I wonder if we are allowed to do burnouts on the carpet....

I hear you left it parked outside a booze bus well into the AM one night. Seems a more dangerous situation to me.

The NSW FCA Darling Harbour show is supposed to be held in Hall 1 - is this the same Hall as where the Sydney International Motor Show is held ?

"where's your rego sticker"

"why's your car unregistered"

Made me leave the car there on the spot. I think being parked 20m from a bunch of cops was pretty safe though...and i just spent the rest of the night circling until they left and drove the 1.2km home.

I'm not leaving my keys, that mechanic who skidded the car 120 metres in Five Dock might be on parking duty!

The event is being organised by Ferrari Club Australia in NSW, to raise money for the Children's Hospital. We last did this in 1990 and it was a great success. You tell us beforehand that you're coming, then bring the car over on Saturday afternoon, park it in the right display spot, take the keys and come back for it Sunday afternoon. Security guards will be on duty, the cars are roped off. Your insurance should be valid, but in any case Darling Harbour will have insurance in case the roof falls in. It is a buzz to see your own car in such a setting, to see the enjoyment that thousands of people get from looking and to know that sick children will benefit. Leave a post here if you want to be contacted for entry details.
