This evenings Top Gear - Thumbs Up or Thumbs Down?

Thumbs Up

I watched it purely for entertainment, treating it as a car themed comedy programme and ignored the fact that the ad-libs were not ad-libs and the caravan fire was staged (and probably the crash too) - and I found myself quite enjoying it.
If this episode is an indicator of the programmes ahead then I may have found the only way to watch it without getting wound up!

It had me in stitches!

I thought it was superb. I found myself laughing out load ( small things etc....? ). Not sure about the crash, but the fire was definatley staged.

Hopefully gonna be this good for the whole of the series.

Andy

definatly, I would not say top - gear is my favorite program but, when you sit and watch it as a comedy show then it becomes more enjoyable, me and my friends who come round every sunday for lunch with us, often sit down with a beer and watch this program giggling to ourselfs (again small things haha!) I am not a big fan of the clarkson collection but I have purchased quite a few DVDs of his and found them amusing ( heaven and hell - renault espace turned into a vert' and Jeremy C. weedling out of turning traction off on the all mighty enzo) ... Lets hope the new series will be as fun and as comic as this one

I thought it was brilliant - ok, so the fire was staged, but I still found myself laughing out loud. Good to see it back on the box - had been suffering withdrawal symptoms My folks used to own a caravan (sold now, thank God!) and I used to hate going away in it for exactly the reasons that they pointed out! When Hamster was cringing at the queue of traffic behind them, I nearly died laughing, as I used to say exactly the same thing.

I did actually laugh out aloud when James May hit that post whilst pulling into the petrol station. The inevitable piss take that followed appeared to be as genuine as his grim mood...

The caravanning item was a good comedy entertainment, despite being obviously staged.
The 3 of them are rapidly turning into Max & Paddy (in a threesome sort of way).

TOP TV !

My daughter (11) now loves top gear and thats an indication of its fun value. The caravan sketch (because thats what it was) was sooooo funny - laughted out loud for ages afterwards

James May was getting mad for real, remember when he called Clarkson and Hamster Pillocks for thier directions when trying to turn the van round??

Long may it continue...
